Let’s see which stud you may want to build around tonight in tournaments:
PG: Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers ($9.9k)
Dame is without a doubt the top stud to target on this slate and he’s got a good matchup against the Mavs. This game is also projected to stay competitive, so he’s in for a full night and at under $10k is an arguable value when you look at the other would-be studs.
Thrillard isn’t cheap, but there aren’t many elite options to consider and he’s been balling lately. If you want to save here you can roll out Elie Okobo, but I don’t see the need for that tonight.
PG: De’Aaron Fox – Sacramento Kings ($7.9k)
Fox is cheaper than Dame and has an even better matchup, so he’s a lock for me as well. You can pivot off of Lillard and use Fox to help you spend elsewhere, but I like the idea of paying up at both point guard slots tonight.
A date with a bad Suns team that is without two of their best scorers looks like a good time to deploy Fox.
SG: Bogdan Bogdanovic – Sacramento Kings ($6.6k)
I’ll take as many Kings as I can get tonight. They’re favored tonight – as they should be – and have a terrific matchup in front of them.
This is a game with pretty much zero defense and Bogdanovic has a really nice shot at staying hot (20+ actual points in three straight games). You can pay up more at SG if you’d like or drop down to Buddy Hield or Dwyane Wade, but I’m digging Bogdan’s groove.
SG: Luka Doncic – Dallas Mavericks ($7.2k)
Doncic is at home in a fun game, so I’m all over his elite versatility and high level ability to score. He’s been banged up, but there is a good chance he plays and if so I’ll be all over him at this price.
In the event Doncic sits, consider cheaper options like Hield or Wade, but I’ll probably just find a way to pay up for someone like DeMar DeRozan.
SF: Mikal Bridges – Phoenix Suns ($4.3k)
Devin Booker and T.J. Warren are both out tonight, so you should consider going spare hunting with the Suns. They’re at home and have just as good of a matchup as the visiting Kings.
Josh Jackson and Trevor Ariza are two guys who should benefit, but Bridges saves me cash at SF, which happens to be a brutal position tonight.
SF: Bojan Bogdanovic – Indiana Pacers ($5.2k)
The other Bogdanovic is on my radar, as small forward is hot garbage. Josh Richardson is probably the only pricey SF I’d consider and even that’s a reach at his current salary.
Bojan continues to log solid run and be a focal point in the Pacers’ offense with Victor Oladipo sidelined. That won’t stop tonight in a favorable spot at home against the lowly Bulls.
I’d go heavier at Pacers if I didn’t think this game was going to be a blowout. For now I’ll restrict my exposure to Bogdanovic and perhaps Domantas Sabonis.
PF: Aaron Gordon – Orlando Magic ($7.4k)
LaMarcus Aldridge and the aforementioned Sabonis are the only other PF options worth paying up for. Both are also viable, but Ridge doesn’t have the best matchup in terms of pace and Sabonis might be slightly overpriced.
Gordon is an elite value by comparison and he’ll be taking on the Heat. This game projects to be fairly close and Gordon absolutely smashed (44 fantasy points!) the last time he faced this team.
PF: Harry Giles III – Sacramento Kings ($4.1k)
Here’s my “low score” of the night and hopefully either he or Bridges will actually pan out. Big man Marvin Bagley will not play tonight, so someone in Sac-town is going to benefit from it.
I don’t know for sure that’ll be Giles, but with FanDuel’s system he’s worth a dive. Even if he doesn’t get the start, there’s a decent chance he gets extra run and smashes in an awesome matchup.
C: Deandre Ayton – Phoenix Suns ($6.8k)
While I like Kings options tonight, I also like the Suns. This game could stay close and it’s probably going to give up a ton of points. The interior defense is non-existent on either side, so I certainly don’t mind paying for a center in this game.
Center is pretty stacked with Nikola Vucevic looking like the top option and DeAndre Jordan also offering solid value, but Ayton is the best value at the position and it’s not very close. He could go off in this spot and to me he’s just too cheap to bypass.
It’s always risky to hitch your wagon to Suns or Kings, but they’re in one of the best DFS environments tonight. I don’t mind stacking up that game and then picking your spots elsewhere.
I actually love the Spurs to beat a +7 point spread in Utah tonight, but that doesn’t mean I’m racking up Spurs and Jazz options in daily fantasy basketball contests. The Bulls/Pacers game could be a housing, too, so you really need to be careful on this tiny slate.
Hopefully my plays serve you well and/or you make the right pivots. Whatever you do, I wish you luck tonight. Enjoy the games!
