FanDuel NBA DFS Picks – October 22nd

My last stop at the FanDuel daily fantasy basketball picks was Friday night. My plays weren’t perfect, but I did deliver a couple of awesome options. Kevin Love was easily the best, as he handed out a monster double-double and was a key pick for GPP winners.

Enes Kanter (29 and 10) also wrecked the Nets and was another fine play.

I took the weekend off, but I’m back to hand out even more solid picks if you plan on playing over at FanDuel. Let’s get to it:

PG: Lonzo Ball – Los Angeles Lakers ($6.8k)

Rajon Rondo is suspended for a fight with Chris Paul, so Ball is slated to jump into the starting five for the Lakers. His jumper remains a problem, but he’s a peripherals fiend and should be looking at heavy minutes as the team’s lead point guard. Even in a matchup with the Spurs, he’s a must tonight.

PG: Bryn Forbes – San Antonio Spurs ($4.3k)

Point guard isn’t my favorite place to save money tonight. There are a ton of terrific options, starting with an expensive Stephen Curry and working my way right down the line. However, this Lakers game could be explosive and Forbes is more cheap exposure to it. He’ll face Ball’s weak defense and with 27+ minutes in both of his games so far, he’s getting the run you want.

SG: DeMar DeRozan – San Antonio Spurs ($8.2k)

I’m all about DMR tonight, as the Lakers will make this a fun game. He’s a solid price and while I like about six SG options tonight, I love his role and matchup. Feel free to also consider Devin Booker, Brad Beal and Victor Oladipo at similar price points.

SG: Bradley Beal – Washington Wizards ($8k)

I’ll snatch up the aforementioned Beal, as he’s the cheapest of that remaining trio and will face Portland’s weak guard defense. He should be busy in this one and it coming in at a slight discount. If you want to make room to land Dipo or Booker, I can’t blame you.

SF: Kevin Durant – Golden State Warriors ($10.8k)

Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James are also on this slate, but KD is the better value of the three. You can pivot or even pair two of them, but I’m not sure where you’ll comfortably get the cash to do so. Durant has been great and tends to have a floor of about 40. In a positive matchup with the Suns, he’s a core play for me.

SF: Rudy Gay – San Antonio Spurs ($6.1k)

Gay’s minutes aren’t always the best, but he looks like a solid try against a Lakers team that doesn’t defend yet and pushes the pace. Pretty much anyone in this game is going to be viable and they’re solid late-game hammers to close out the night.

PF: Kyle Kuzma – Los Angeles Lakers ($6.5k)

Kuz is worth a look on pretty much any slate, but with Brandon Ingram also shelved with a suspension, he’s looking at killer run. The Lakers push the pace (#1 in the NBA) and will be at home against a Spurs team that hasn’t excelled defensively. Kuzma will get lots of run and plenty of opportunities to prove me right tonight.

PF: Max Kleber – Dallas Mavericks ($3.5k)

Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki both remain out, so there’s going to be 15-20 minutes for Kleber to soak up again tonight. He doesn’t offer much upside, but I’m not enamored with the PF position tonight. I’ll punt here and use him as my free square.

C: JaVale McGee – Los Angeles Lakers ($5.5k)

I’ll grab one more body from this Spurs/Lakers games. Maybe 1-2 years ago this isn’t a game to target, but it sure seems to be one now. McGee doesn’t get crazy run, but he’s a per minute monster and actually may be needed a bit more than usual in this one. That’s the plan, but if you plan on paying up, DeAndre Jordan figures to be one of the better pricey options on the board.
