FanDuel NBA Picks – March 10th

Hey Guys, I’m back again today offering some of my favorite DFS NBA picks for today’s nice 8 game slate. The slate we have today is very interesting because every game has the potential to shoot out and go over the Vegas total. The Jazz, Grizzlies, Spurs, and Miami Heat all have the night off, which puts every game in play for DFS.

I hope you guys were able to avoid some of the big duds last night such as Khawi Leonard and Patty Mills. It was beyond frustrating see Pop leave Khawi Leonard on the bench the entire fourth quarter, although they were only down 10-12 for most of the quarter. These are how short slates turn out though, especially when you have a team like the Spurs which offers the most value. When that happens you end up having more ownership to a team or a player that typically you don’t roster on a full slate. I hope you were able to catch my tweet yesterday when I mentioned to not play Patty Mills and Danny Green in the same line up, as the potential from one of them to bust was pretty high. That being said , lets get into my favorite FanDuel NBA picks for GPPs tonight.

Point Guard

DEN – Jamal Murray ($3700) – This is a not a play for the faint of heart, Murray could very easily bust in this game and sink a potential LU. Murray also has the potential to go for 7x-10 like it’s no ones business, if he gets the minutes and his shot is falling. The rookie from Kentucky has played 24 minutes + in 3 of his last 4 games. The head coach of the Nuggets said on Thursday that he wants to get Murray more minutes in the final 18 games of the season. The point guard position is one you want to attack against the Celtics, as we know Isaiah Thomas is ranked as the worst defender in the NBA. Murray may not see his all his minutes against Thomas, but the pace of this game should be enough for Murray to hit 20+ points.

Shooting Guard

DAL – Seth Curry ($6200) – I’m not sure if Steph and Seth secretly swapped shooting powers, because Seth has been on fire since the All-Star break. The youngest of the Curry brothers has shot 50%+ in 7 of his last 8 games, and now gets a pace up match up against the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets have the worst ranked overall DvP and are ranked dead last against opposing shooting guards.

Seth Curry doesnt carry the 8 or 9x ceiling as he relies on most of his fantasy production from actual points. But if he can get 5x – 6x which he has been doing consistently then that’s perfect for our tournament line ups. We often chase guys who have too much boom or bust potential in our GPP roster construction. Just like in cash you want some roster stability as well, and Curry provides us with that along with minimal saving against the salary cap.

Center

HOU – Clint Capela ($5300) – What if I told you the Rockets big man has gone for 35 and 40 FD points in two out his last 3 games. Also, what if I told you he’s been getting 25+ minutes in four straight games. Well I am telling you those things, and they are all true. The Rockets back court situation is still a mess in regards to DFS purposes because all of the shots and minutes for each player are limited due to the addition of 6th man Lou Williams. The same instability cant be said for front court as Capela role has been increasing. It should come as no surprise that the Rockets v Bulls game has the highest implied total, and that Capela gets the easiest MU of the night on the boards against Robin Lopez.

The majority will flock to Zeller tonight due to the minutes floor that comes along with the Hornets Center tonight due to injuries. Capela is a great pivot off the chalky Zeller who has disappointed many of us DFS owners before in similar spots. Harden is becoming more of a facilitator recently and Capela is reaping the benefits of that having put up 9+ shots in four straight games.

As always best of luck tonight guys and enjoy your weekend.
