Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings – NBA October 24, 2021

The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are scheduled for a Sunday night matchup at the Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento. It’s been a hot start for the Warriors, as they head to Sacramento with two wins.

They opened the season in impressive form with a 121-114 win against the LA Lakers at the Staples Center, and then a 115-13 win in an entertaining one against the LA Clippers on Thursday. Stephen Curry came up big late for the Warriors, as he and Paul George exchanged blows in the final seconds.

The Warriors look good, but they are still going to need Klay Thompson back to go over the top. They should be an NBA Finals contender if Thompson returns in good health. This is a good team right now, but they likely turn into excellence with Klay back on the court.

In any case, Golden State has been in good form through their first two games without Klay in the lineup. Curry was quiet in the opener with just 21 points, but he had 10 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double. Curry is one of the only players in the league that isn’t going to receive the headlines following a triple-double.

He poured it on 45 points and 10 rebounds versus the Clippers. When Curry is spotting up from behind the 3-point line and spraying deep bombs, that’s what is going to see Curry’s highlights replayed all night. He is going to have a good chance to go off again versus a beatable Sacramento defense.

The Kings opened the season impressively with a 124-121 win on the road in Portland. Good work for a Kings team seeking respect this season. They couldn’t follow up, though, and suffered a 110-101 win at home against a good Utah team on Friday.

They were in that one throughout and just couldn’t hold on. The Kings are probably going to stick around in more games than most people expect. There’s talent to like in this lineup. Head below for our free Warriors vs. Kings pick on October 24, 2021.

Warriors vs. Kings Prediction:

Unfortunately for the Kings, they are getting Steph Curry off a really sharp game. When Curry gets into a groove, it’s tough to disrupt him from the field.

Curry heated up with the Clippers offering not much resistance once he got going. The Warriors enter tonight with 118 points scored per game for sixth best in the NBA, and fifth with a 3-point percentage of 41.4%.

The Kings ranked towards the back of the NBA last season defensively. They had and have offensive weapons, but the defense failed to show up consistently.

Sacramento gave up 117.4 points against per game. The only team worse than the Kings defensively were the Minnesota Timberwolves by a hair. They go into this one having allowed 115.5 points per game in 2021-22.

The Kings have talent on the floor with this team. They can score with an array of options, including some underrated options.

People think Buddy Hield when it comes to the Kings, but there’s much more to this roster. In fact, Hield could be gone in a trade soon.

Harrison Barnes has led the Kings in scoring, and 20-year-old Tyrese Haliburton could be a star waiting to blossom in Sacramento. They have had Hield coming off the bench which goes to show that they have some depth on this team.

Until they show that they’re going to stop a player like Curry, the Kings can’t take the next step, though. This should be an entertaining contest in Sacramento tonight, with a final score in the 121-117 range.
