The Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs are on the floor at the AT&T Center on Saturday night. This is a stay healthy and focused type of game before the playoffs.
The Warriors and Spurs have two games left in the regular season. Golden State has room to go down to the fourth seed if they trip in these outings.

They are 51-29 and a half-game up on the Dallas Mavericks for the third seed. Four games behind the Grizzlies for second in the West, there is only something to lose before the playoffs.
This wasn’t supposed to be how things went for the Warriors. They were playing well, but then Stephen Curry went down, and everything changed.
Just as Klay Thompson and Draymond Green returned, Curry had to sit down with a sprained ligament in his foot. The Warriors hope that he can go in the playoffs.
Staying healthy is most important right now for the Warriors. Thompson is not active in San Antonio tonight. He is absent for rest, showing you how important Steve Kerr seeding is between No. 3 and No. 4.
San Antonio is locked into the play-in tournament, as they’ll face the New Orleans Pelicans. There is no room for the Spurs to go up or down. They’re going in with the final tenth and final seed.
The Spurs were looking for something better than a record of 34-46, but they’ll have a good chance for experience in the postseason. This is something for the Spurs to improve on next year.

Warriors vs. Spurs Prediction:
The Warriors can hold off the Dallas Mavericks for the third seed in the West. Steve Kerr is opting to keep Klay Tompson fresh for tomorrow.
Golden State will close out the season in New Orleans against the Pelicans tomorrow. I’m not so sure that motivation is going to be something we see from the Warriors tonight.
In their final tune-up game tomorrow, expect to see the Warriors looking to finish the season off strong. However, don’t expect the Warriors to put their best effort forward tonight.
The Spurs may not have anything to play for, but they didn’t against the Timberwolves on Thursday either. They didn’t win, but covered the spread and played hard in a 127-121 loss.
San Antonio was coming off a three-game winning streak with wins in seven of their last eight attempts. Despite Dejounte Murray out at the moment, the Spurs are focused and playing as a team. Keldon Johnson has taken over with Murray on the sidelines.
That’s when Gregg Popovich is at his best. When his team is buying into the system, and the ball is moving around, the Spurs can be better than their record suggests.
Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs Betting Trends:
- 1-4 ATS in their previous five games as a betting favorite on the road
- 5-12-1 ATS in their previous 18 games as a betting favorite
- 1-4 ATS in their previous five games on one-day rest
- 3-8 overall in their previous 11 games on the road
- 1-4 ATS in their previous five games versus the Southwest Division
- 5-0 ATS in their previous five games
- 5-0 ATS in their previous five games as an underdog
- 4-0 ATS in their previous four games versus a team with a winning record
- 8-4 overall in their previous 12 games in April
- 5-0 ATS in their previous five games on a one-day rest
The Spurs are scoring points recently, with an average of 118.2 points per game and a 50% field goal percentage in their last five games.
They’ve had some success at home this season with 114.1 points a game and 47.4% in San Antonio. The best sign has been the defense as of late, though.
The Spurs have given up 107.8 points per game and a 43.5% field goal percentage in their last five outings. They didn’t show up versus the Pelicans, though they held their previous two opponents to less than 100 points.
I’m not interested in laying more than 7 points with the Warriors on the road. Klay Thompson will not be playing tonight, and I can’t see them overly motivated ahead of their season finale. The Spurs should look good, as they attempt to respond from a loss on the road.
