8:30 p.m. ET – Memphis at Dallas (-5) O/U: 232.5
|Teams||Spread||Money Line||Total Points|
|Memphis Grizzlies||+5 (-110)||+180||O 232½ (-115)|
|Dallas Mavericks||-5 (-110)||-220||U 232½ (-105)|
The 13-13 Grizzlies travel to American Airlines Center in Dallas on Monday night to take on the 13-15 Mavericks. Memphis was unable to get out of the gate on Saturday night, trailing the Suns by 31 points at halftime, which also was ultimately the final point differential. The Grizzlies scored just 97 points, marking their lowest point total since Jan. 7. Dallas lost 121-118 to the Trail Blazers on Sunday despite Luka Doncic’s 44-point outburst on 14-of-20 shooting from the field. The Mavericks were unable to contain Portland’s offense, allowing them to shoot 52 percent from the field.
The Grizzlies are led by reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Ja Morant, who is averaging 18.9 points and 7.8 assists per game. Memphis will be without guard Dillion Brooks (thigh) on Monday night. Brooks is averaging 15.8 points per game this season so others will have to step up in his absence. Brooks also has excelled as the Grizzlies’ best backcourt defender this season.
The Mavericks are led by the mercurial Doncic, who not only is the league’s fifth-highest scorer with an average of 29.1 points per game but also leads the team with 9.4 assists and 8.6 rebounds per game. Doncic has scored over 40 points in his last two games, so expect him to be the main focus of the Memphis defense, making his player prop of over 9.5 assists worth a bet as he likely will be more than willing to set up others when he inevitably is double-teamed.
