Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics NBA Pick – Game 3

The NBA is set up with another strong slate of basketball playoff action on Saturday. The Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics will meet in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 21. These two teams have met in an exciting series so far and will look for a big win in this one. This game will tip off at around 8:30 PM Eastern time on TNT.

Miami has earned a record of 9-4 throughout the postseason as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Heat eliminated the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers to reach the Conference Finals. Miami lost their last game of this series and will look to avoid dropping two in a row. I expect the Heat to come out fast on the road.

The Celtics have put up a record of 9-4 as well in the playoffs as the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Boston swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round and won a seven game series against the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round. The Celtics will look to build on Game 2’s win. Boston will look to step up early on Saturday night.

These two teams have been strong throughout the postseason and will look for a big win in this one. The Heat have been strong all postseason and will look to bounce back once again in this one. Boston will look to take their first lead of this series at home. If either team can come out fast in this one, it could be enough for the win.

These two teams have met up twice so far in this series. Game 1 was on May 17. Jimmy Butler dropped 41 points and 9 rebounds, while Tyler Herro had 18 points off the bench. The Heat earned a 118-107 win. Jayson Tatum put up 27 points and 5 assists in the second game. Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown both scored 24 points to lead the Celtics to a 127-102 win.

Field Goal Shooting

The Heat have been solid shooting the ball in the playoffs. Miami has made 46.6 percent of their shots from the field, which is 2nd in the remaining field of 4. The Heat have been shooting 32.2 percent from deep, which is 4th in the postseason. Miami has sunk 81.1 percent of their shots from behind the arc, which is 1st in the playoffs.

Boston has been solid shooting the ball in the postseason as well. The Celtics have shot 45.4 percent from the field, which is 3rd in the field of 4. Boston has made 36.6 percent of their shots from behind the arc, which is 3rd in the playoffs. The Celtics have drained 79.9 percent of their shots from deep, which is 2nd in the postseason.

These two teams have been solid shooting the ball in the playoffs, but they have both also been strong on defense. Both teams have held their team to less than 110 points in a game this series and will look to play another tight one in this matchup. If either team can come out shooting well though, it could be enough to lift them to the win.

Top Performers

Jimmy Butler has been the leader for Miami throughout this postseason. Butler has averaged 29.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Tyler Herro is averaging 13.9 points per game off the bench. Bam Adebayo has averaged 13.6 points and 7.5 rebounds, while Max Strus is averaging 11.9 points per game. Victor Oladipo has averaged 11 points per game to round out the lineup.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have both been great for the Celtics in the playoffs. Tatum is averaging 28.2 points, while Brown has averaged 22.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Marcus Smart is averaging 15.8 points and 6.7 assists per game. Al Horford has averaged 12.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Grant Williams rounds out the lineup, averaging 11.3 points per game.

These two teams have been led by their stars throughout the playoffs. Butler has been great for the Heat in this run, but the duo of Tatum and Brown has been just as good if not better. Both teams have seen some solid depth scoring as well. If either team can have some players step up early, it could be enough for the win.

Pick Overview

These two teams have been great throughout this series and will look for a big win as they meet up on Saturday night. Boston is coming off a big win in Game 2 of this series and I think they will carry that momentum back home. The Celtics have the better one-two punch and if they can get the home crowd into it early, I like their chances to earn the win.

Bovada has Boston listed as a -6 ½ against the spread in this one. This gives a solid edge to the Celtics at home in this one. I agree with this line as Boston was the hottest team down the stretch and has continued it in the playoffs. The Celtics are also back at home in this one. As slight favorites, I like the value on Boston to cover the spread.

The Bet
Boston Celtics -6.5
-110
