We notched another NBA winner last night, our fourth straight winner and pushing the streak to 10-2 ATS over our last 12 picks overall. Last night’s win came with plenty of room to spare as the Los Angeles Clippers went into Denver and controlled the game by large double digits spreads from the first quarter to the final buzzer. I’m pleased with another easy winner, but the most impressive performance in the NBA last night was delivered in Dallas by the visiting Warriors.
Golden State went into Dallas and absolutely beat-down the Mavericks. It was the Dubs twelfth straight win, many of them coming well after the have already clinched the top seed in the West, and it adds yet another playoff foe to the headcount. Over the last three weeks they have now won road games at Los Angeles, Dallas, Portland and Memphis. That’s a road win over basically every possible playoff opponent…
Except San Antonio. And they get their chance to go into the champs home gym and send one last resounding salvo that they are the team to beat for the Title. I can’t wait for this game this evening (7PM EST – NBA TV). I’m not picking this one, as much as I like the Warriors it is the back-end of a road back to back against one of the best teams in the NBA… but I will be watching.

Today’s Free Pick:
Miami Heat at Indiana Pacers -6
Paul George will make his long anticipated return tonight in Indianapolis, just in time to try and help the Pacers mount a final push to the playoffs. I don’t expect him to log a ton of minutes tonight, but I do think it will provide a nice emotional life to the team. I expect a really strong defensive effort tonight in a game with HUGE playoff implications for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. A Miami win would not only bolster their chances but also all but eliminate the Pacers. Expect playoff-like intensity from two teams that know each other well, and are certainly not fond of one another.
For Miami, it is the backend of a back to back after last night’s brutal one-point road loss in Detroit. It was Miami’s third straight loss and fourth in five games. Meanwhile, Indiana had a night to rest after cruising to a 19-point win against Charlotte Friday night.
Indiana has the rest advantage, home court advantage and the Paul George returning advantage. I think that’ll be a little too much for the banged up Heat to overcome. Whiteside is doubtful today and with Bosh, McRoberts and Birdman already sidelined, it leaves Miami WAY too undersized and thin to beat a physical Indiana team on the road.
