One half of the NBA Finals is set after the Spurs completed their quick work of Memphis. I, like most NBA fans, am surprised this series was a sweep, but every time Memphis seemed to get on track, Coach Pop and Tony Parker had an answer. Now we can let the “rest versus rust” debate begin as the Spurs have a nearly two-week vacation awaiting the winner of the Pacers and Heat series.
Whether or not that series will be quick work will likely be determined tonight. If Indiana can put their fierce beatdown in Game Three behind them and defend their home court, then this series might have some length; another performance from Miami like in Game Three and the NBA is going to find itself with a very awkward LONG lull before the Final begin…
So, can Indiana rebound tonight and even up the series? Let’s dig inside Game Four.
Free NBA Pick:
Miami Heat -3 at Indiana Pacers (Total: 184)
The Miami Heat played arguably the best half any NBA team has turned in this entire season in the first half of Game Three. By the time the Pacers went to the locker room down 70-54, the game was OVER. But does that mean Miami has broken through and solved the Pacers defensively, or it is simply a game when EVERY shot went through the net? Udonis Haslem was 8 of 9 from the floor. If he goes just 50% from the floor in the first half, Indy has the game under double digits at the half, and it is possible things never get so far out of hand.
Perhaps I am stubborn, but I try to avoid being a prisoner of the moment. I like Indy to bounce back tonight and play very well on their home floor. I am not sure they will get the win, but I don’t see them getting blown out .
My favorite play on this game is the OVER 184. SO far in this series, every single game has gone over the 184 mark. Game One saw 205 points, Game Two tallied 190 and Game Three, courtesy of Miami’s offensive explosion, skyrocketed up to 210. Even in the regular season these two defensive-minded teams went comfortably over the 190 barrier two of three times.
I like tonight to be another well-played game and think each team has found their offensive rythym. I’d be surprised if Indy gave up 114 points again in this series, but I wouldn’t be stunned to see both team break 90 with ease.
