Lakers at Pelicans Betting Predictions | 7:30 PM ET
|Teams||Spread||Money Line||Total Points|
|Lakers||+6 (-110)||+195||O 221 (-110)|
|Pelicans||-6 (-110)||-245||U 221 (-110)|
The 28-15 Lakers travel to New Orleans on Tuesday night to take on the 18-24 Pelicans. Los Angeles has lost two games in a row, most recently falling 111-94 to the Suns Sunday night in Phoenix. New Orleans heads home after a three-game road trip, which they finished in Denver Sunday night with a 113-118 upset win over the Nuggets.
The Lakers lost LeBron James to an ankle injury on Saturday night against the Hawks and have been unable to get anything going offensively in the two games without him, failing to eclipse the century mark in each contest. These two teams met with both teams at full strength back on Jan. 15 when the Lakers picked up a 112-95 win at the Staples Center.
Los Angeles already was without Anthony Davis and now also will be without LeBron James for likely a couple of weeks. Marc Gasol also is out tonight. Point guard Dennis Schroder averages 15 points per game and the Lakers will need a big game tonight from him, along with one from forward Kyle Kuzma, if they hope to compete on the road.
The Pelicans are led by forward Zion Williamson who averages 25.7 points per game. Williamson has had a big March, averaging 26.5 points per game during the month. With the Lakers’ superstars out, he will be the best player on the court and will need to play like it for New Orleans to prevail even with the Lakers being shorthanded.
New Orleans is 7-12-1 against the spread this season when favored in games this season. The Pelicans will be without Lonzo Ball on Tuesday night and that could be a huge factor in determining the outcome of this matchup.
Montrezl Harrell should be able to cancel out Steven Adams’ inside presence enough to keep the Lakers in this game down to the final buzzer. Take the points in a game that Los Angeles could very well win outright despite all the injuries.
