Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Pick – NBA October 28, 2021

The undefeated Golden State Warriors will put their perfect record on the line against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at the Chase Center in the Bay Area. Golden State has been playing like this is 2015-16 again.

At least through their first four games the Warriors have looked like a really good team. I’m not saying that the Warriors are going to finish with a record of 73-9. That’s not going to happen, at least not without a healthy Klay Thompson on the floor.

Thompson is inching to get back and contributing to what is already a rock solid roster. If Thompson can return to the Warriors lineup at the right time for a postseason push, then it’s not going to matter if Golden State plays as well as they did in the regular season back then. They are going to be a major threat to win the NBA Finals.

The Warriors are coming off a 106-98 win over the OKC Thunder on Tuesday in Oklahoma. It was one of their lazier performances this season. After beating the Kings on Sunday, 119-107, the Warriors didn’t look too interested in going to Oklahoma. In any case, they are still going back home with a win and perfect record.

They welcome a Grizzlies team to the Chase Center that includes some talent. Ja Morant is a special talent. The Grizzlies are fortunate to have him, but they are going to need Desmond Bane and De’Anthony Melton to develop fast if they’re going to have a chance in the Western Conference.

Bane led the Grizzlies with 19 points in their 116-96 loss versus the Portland Trail Blazers yesterday. Melton was terrible and a big reason why the Blazers were able to pull away and control that game. He had 7 rebounds with 1 assist and no points. If Melton hits some shots, they’re likely in that game. They will need him more from Melton tonight. Head below for our free Grizzlies vs. Warriors pick on October 28, 2021.

Grizzlies vs. Warriors Prediction:

The Grizzlies have been up and down this season, with a couple of really good looks against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 132-121, and a 120-114 win over the Clippers on Saturday.

However, the Grizzlies were unable to follow up, dropping a 121-118 decision against the Lakers on Sunday. After a couple of days off, the Grizzlies didn’t respond well against the Blazers.

This is a nice spot for the Grizzlies to make up with a solid performance versus the red-hot Warriors. The Grizzlies should be better than a .500 team this season.

They finished with a record of 38-34 last year, and I suspect that the Grizz should be able to improve on that. Memphis has been one of the highest scoring teams in the league going into this one.

The Grizzlies have scored 116.5 points per game for third in the NBA. Their shooting from three has been amongst the best, with a conversion rate of 38.3% for fifth. It’s been their rebounding that has helped their offense the most.

They are best in the NBA on the defensive glass and sixth offensively. Steven Adams should be able to clean up the boards in this one.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Betting Trends:

  • 9-4 ATS in their previous 13 games as an underdog on the road
  • 4-2 ATS in their previous six games versus Golden State
  • 4-2 overall in their previous six games versus Golden State
  • OVER is 9-1 in their previous ten games
  • UNDER is 4-1 in their previous six games on the road versus Golden State

  • 9-3 ATS in their previous 12 games
  • 4-1 ATS in their previous five games as a favorite at the Chase Center
  • 6-2 ATS in their previous eight games as a favorite
  • 17-36 ATS in their previous 53 games on a Thursday

I think it’s best for the Grizzlies to get back right out on the floor after a discouraging effort last night against the Blazers. They held tough versus the Lakers at the Staples Center, and it probably would have been the case if De’Anthony Melton was a ghost in Portland.

Despite that bad game from Melton, he’s been playing well this season. He scored 20, 22, and 13 points before running into a pothole against the Blazers. Look for Melton to bounce back, while Morant and Curry duel in a close one. The points look like a good value at 6.
