Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Pick – NBA March 30, 2022

The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics have a meeting at the TD Garden on Wednesday night. Miami is on the other side of a four-game losing streak going into this one.

They went through a cold stretch, which included arguments on the sidelines between the players and head coach Erik Spoelstra. It was getting ugly for the Heat, but righted the ship versus the Sacramento Kings.

Miami cleared the Kings in an easy one for a 123-100 victory. It’s only the Kings, though a win like that can do a lot of good for a struggling team.

All it may take is seeing the ball go through the net consistently to get back on track. Despite it looking like the Heat’s season might be going into the toilet, this isn’t a time to panic.

After all, the Heat are still in a great position at 48-28 going into tonight. If you were to tell the Heat that they’re 48-28 and first in the Eastern Conference at the start of the season, they’d obviously be ecstatic.

Confidence in the Heat sort of went sideways lately after the confrontations and poor play. Before the win over the Kings, the Heat had a 110-95 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Team morale looked dead in the Heat locker room. After a 23-point win over the Kings are the Heat back in form, though?

The Celtics recently had a six-game winning streak come to an end. They lost a close one at Toronto by a score of 115-112 on Monday.

Boston has been playing good basketball in the last several weeks. The Celtics have won 11 of their previous 13 games and are only a game behind the Heat following a slow start in 2021-22.

Heat vs. Celtics Prediction:

The Celtics have been in top form, as they are up to 47-29 on the season after a so-so start this season. This squad is peaking at the right time, with the playoffs right around the corner.

The last game for the Celtics in the regular season is on April 10. They only have six games to go, so the Celtics are finding a rhythm at a good time. However, is it just a tad too early?

If you don’t see this run they’re on as a fluke, then no. The Celtics are top in the NBA, with 104 points allowed per game and a 43.2% field goal percentage.

They are terrific on the perimeter especially, and in a league where defending the three-ball is important, it’s a big plus for the Celtics going into the playoffs.

The Heat have one of the better defenses in the NBA as well. They’ve gotten out of touch recently, but the Heat are capable of doing what they did versus the Kings consistently.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Betting Trends:

  • 7-1-1 ATS in their previous nine games on the road
  • 15-6 ATS in their previous 21 games as an underdog
  • 10-4 ATS in their previous 14 games versus a team with a winning percentage better than 60%
  • 7-2 ATS in thier previous nine games on a Wednesday
  • 11-5 ATS in their previous 16 games as an underdog on the road
  • 5-2 ATS in their previous seven games at home
  • 4-1 ATS in their previous five games as a betting favorite
  • 5-0 ATS in their previous five games after a loss
  • 3-9 ATS in their previous 12 games versus the Heat at home
  • OVER is 7-2 in their previous nine games

The Heat are the fourth-best team in the NBA with 105.2 points against and a 44.6% field goal percentage. They are strong around the three-point line as well, fourth with a 34.1% three-point percentage against.

Miami is second on the defensive boards, which is needed against the Celtics. The C’s are aggressive with their offensive rebounding. They are fourth, but the Heat cleans their glass up well.

While these teams are about even on defense, the same could be said for the offenses. They’re fairly close, though the Heat hold an advantage from deep.

The Heat are the best in the NBA, with a three-point percentage of 37.4%. Overall, the Heat are 13th with a 46.3% field goal percentage instead of a 46.2% field goal percentage and 35.2% three-point percentage for the Celtics.

There isn’t a lot separating the Heat and Celtics in this one. The Heat were cold, but broke out of the funk in their last outing. Getting 5 -points looks like a pretty good deal at TD Garden.
