Milwaukee ended a three-game losing streak on Sunday night with a 124-87 win in Orlando. The Bucks are 3.5 games back of the Nets and 76ers in the Eastern Conference but are still a solid 3-seed with a four-game lead on Atlanta coming into the game.
Minnesota is once again poised to potentially grab that No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft Lottery. The Timberwolves are in the basement of the Western Conference as they have lost five of their last seven games.
The Bucks have won four in a row in the series, but Minnesota actually has a 31-30 all-time record as the T-Wolves are 19-11 vs. Milwaukee in their home digs.
Milwaukee took a 139-112 win back on Feb. 23 although Karl-Anthony Towns had 26 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds.
Minnesota is on back-to-back No. 13 and is 3-9 on the second night of the twin-bills.
- Milwaukee Bucks – Giannis Antetkounmpo (knee); PJ Tucker – Day to Day;
- Minnesota Timberwolves – Malik Beasley (hamstring) – OUT; Karl-Anthony Towns – was OUT Tuesday vs. Nets – no update at press time.
Bucks (23-30 ATS):
- The Bucks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games
- Milwaukee is 10-4 ATS in the last 14 vs. the Timberwolves
- The Bucks are 8-3 SU in their last 11 road games
Timberwolves (24-30-1 ATS):
- The OVER has been the play in 4 of the T-Wolves last 6 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 13 of the last 20 Bucks-Timberwolves matchups
- Minnesota is 5-11 SU in it’s last 16 home outings
Last Time Out
Khris Middleton had 21 points and Bobby Portis nailed four triples while scoring 16 as the Bucks took a 124-87 win in Orlando on Sunday. Milwaukee shot 48.9 percent from the floor as the Bucks made 19 threes for their sixth straight win in the series.
Anthony Edwards scored 27 points, but the Minnesota Timberwolves were no match for the Brooklyn Nets, who presided over a 127-97 beat down in Minneapolis. The game was rescheduled out of compassion for the death of another young Black man, Daunte Wright, in a traffic stop in Minneapolis on Monday. Karl-Anthony Towns missed the game as it was the one-year mark of his mother’s death due to COVID-19 complications.

Advantage, Milwaukee Bucks
This offense is hard to derail when it is clicking on all cylinders and the guess is Giannis will miss another game as he continues to work on healing his injured knee. Milwaukee is still No. 1 in the NBA in field goals made with 44.4 per game while shooting 48.5 percent from the floor (5th/NBA) and 39.3 from three (2nd/NBA).
Khris Middleton (20.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg) continues to thrive as a key leader for the Bucks as he has averaged 21 points and 6.7 boards in his last three games.
Key Bucks Stat
Milwaukee was able to get it’s defense back together against the struggling Magic as the Bucks held Orlando to 37.2 percent from the floor and only 8-of-36 from three. In the three=game slide, the Bucks’ opponents shot 46.8 percent from the floor and they made 51 threes.
Bobby Portis is coming up huge for Milwaukee with Giannis sidelined as he is the only Buck other than Giannis to have four straight double-doubles since 2016. He is averaging 14.8 points and 12.6 rebounds during this stretch and has made 24-of-59 shots, including seven threes.
Advantage, Minnesota Timberwolves
Karl Anthony-Towns (25.0 ppg, 11.1 rpg) will likely be back in the lineup as he is the centerpiece of this franchise and needs a myriad of help as the T-Wolves struggle to score the ball so consistently. Anthony Edwards leads the NBA in rookie scoring at 17.9 points per game as he has logged 31.3 minutes and is the only Wolf to appear in all 54 games so far.
Minnesota will need all of its scorers on point as it won’t survive a lower scoring game with its defense which give up 117.7 points (28th/NBA) and allows opponents to net 48.3 percent (29th/NBA) from the field.
Key Timberwolves Stat:
D’Angelo Russell has been solid since coming back from injury as he has averaged 19.0 points and 5.0 assists over those four games. Russell has to be a primary scoring option this evening as well with Malik Beasley still sidelined with his injury.
Ricky Rubio continues to struggle shooting the ball as he is only at 38 percent on the season, but he needs a big game today as do role players such as Naz Reid who can post up and score, but also face-up and hit the three. Jaylen Nowell, who is averaging 9.8 points per game as a rookie, could be a player to watch off the bench.
On this team, if a player can step up and consistently transfer from game to game, he can settle into a regular spot in the rotation.
Winner: Bucks (-9) 123, T-Wolves 111
