In a three pack highlighted by injuries and mindset of the top players, this could be a good night to watch in the NBA, or a very bad one. Yesterday, the big-boys in the NBA, showed up and disheveled our selections, but I am 30-15 over my last 45 NBA picks!
NBA Betting Picks for Thursday, December 16th:
Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics – The luck was not with us last night, but it was with the Celtics who gave a game winning jump shot, completely wide-open to Amare Stoudemire, who with 0.4 seconds left, took a normal shot that cost the Knicks the game, taking too much time to release and Boston staved off the upset, to continue their remarkable win streak. Two words => Joe Johnson, without him in the lineup until early January, we now see why it was so important for this team to resign their star and prized shooting guard. Without him they lost @ Detroit by an astounding 23 points. Boston is beating the teams they should and when at home, they are lights out. The only issue is the cover for us, in a back to back.

Atlanta VS Boston – In their previous game, Atlanta could only muster up 76 points and now I am hearing word that their insurance policy, Jamal Crawford is out also. A vast difference will be exhibited in offensive prowess tonight with this match up, compared to NYK v. BOS. Totaling just 175 points combined in their last game, I am sure we won’t see a team break 100 and the defense should be the staple of both teams in this one. On a back to back the big three for the C’s should rest late, if they get up by double digits. In the middle the Celtics are thin, right now, but they have the horses to band aid the situation temporarily.
San Antonio VS Denver – With the trade speculations swirling and Carmelo totaling the worst average against the Spurs in the West at 20 ppg. I see it fitting to place this bet, in this spot. Chauncey Billups is out until this weekend and most may feel the over is the play with Ty Lawson playing more minutes at the point, but the scoring and end of clock shooting scenarios will keep our score down without Mr. Big shot. The air may be a detriment to San Antonio with its aging veterans and not to mention they are playing the second of a back to back. The Spurs are rolling and if they can hold up the pace and give it into Duncan, this game will stay way under and in their last five their highest combined point total has been just 205.
Washington getting six in Jersey and the total is worth a look, the Spurs are worth taking, but with too many unknowns of how or if certain key guys will show up, pushed me towards the total. Good Luck to those following my picks tonight!
