In the most games I’ve seen on one day in the NBA, there will be 13 games tonight. And after the doubleheader last night, everyone should be into NBA basketball.
NBA Betting Picks for Friday, December 3rd:
Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz – In what seems like a matchup that both could easily win, I looked closer. The Mavericks have lost five in a row when visiting EnergySolutions Arena. These two upper-echelon Western Conference teams are riding a seven game win streak, coming into this big game. In Utah’s last two home games the opposition has posted a pair of snowmen, giving up 88. This will be tough, but I like this Utah team to come up big at home and pull this one out and show Dallas that they do have some weaknesses and rely on the jumpshot too much. Great matches at all positions, albeit for superstars and great role guys. Deron will control the pace as will J.Kidd, at the two the defense will be intense. The wing spot will provide the X-factor in Caron Butler taking on AK47. Inside and out in the frontcourt all players have found their niche in the offense and it will only be a win if Sap and Al can match Dirk’s offensive output.

New Jersey Nets @ Charlotte Bobcats – When Devin Harris went down with an injury for the Nets, that was a difficult pill to swallow. But as you look at their roster, they do have the prerequisite backups that can excel in this system. What they do not possess is another prolific scorer like Harris. They surprisingly put up 120 against OKC on the 1st, but that was at home and took three overtimes and Durant missing it. They are just 2-8 away from Jersey and look to improve that record when visiting Time Warner Cable Arena. The Bobcats have won their last three of four at home after dropping their first four. I don’t believe the Nets have hold of a defensive team that will stop and keep Charlotte off of the scoreboard, in the likes of the Hornets who held CHA to four points in the final nine minutes of their game. Stephen Jackson keys this offense and with him back he will bring the intensity.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Toronto Raptors – At first glance this pick makes no sense, but upon further review you should know that Kevin Durant is nursing his knee and may be out until Monday versus Chicago, I believe. Toronto is now a winning team at home and are pulling themselves back up to the playoff picture in the East. Thunder are slightly still favored and look to get a team effort against a complete team effort nightly from the Canadian Kids. Toronto has beaten the underprivileged teams and has competed half the time against the NBA’s elite. But with OKC at 13-6 and missing the face of the franchise I am putting them in between the aforementioned categories. Without the proposed 30 pts scored by Durant, look for a closer affair and Toronto is getting better at winning the games that they should. Durant could play today and against the Warriors, but they are looking for a matchup they are sure to lose in Chicago, sans KD.
Hornets by a touchdown in N.O. is worth a look. Boston could do well with Boozer getting acclimated, still. Denver rolling with Melo and should dust the Clips. Lakers to dominate the Kings, but at a dozen, will be tough to take.
