Seven games in the NBA on the 7th, which is good, ‘cuz I’m free on the seventh at seven! Suns at Blazers, seems to be the consensus matchup to watch, coming at 10pm ET. I am paying attention to the DeeTroit-Basketball game but that is for more of a personal gain reason. Lakers-Wiz, nobody beats ‘em, except on the road!
NBA Betting Picks for Tuesday, December 7th:
Detroit Pistons @ Houston Rockets – Detroit has only beaten the team that just lost its heart in the Cleveland Cavaliers. Whereas the Houston Rockets can boast an away win at Memphis and two subsequent home wins in beating the powerhouse Lakers and the OKC Thunder in their last five. This team is buying in and contributing good numbers nightly. When Detroit loses they are being blown out, with their closest loss in the last five, coming against the Knicks and that being a nine point defeat at home. This team is not in full rebuild mode, but should be, dusting off the trading manual to relieve them of the contracts of none other than the Prince and Rip. A warm reception I feel is warranted as T-Mac brought some great regular season years to the Toyota Center fans. Notable 50+ win seasons and giving them the feeling that they are never truly out of a game with Tracy holding the ball in the fourth. But the team banished him and after sending him home, traded the former superstar last season.
Detroit VS Houston – The Rockets have won their last three at home and the Pistons are looking at double digit losses on the road before they dream of a two-digit win total for 2010/11. Also Detroit has dropped road games at a high pace and are 0-5 since their last road win. The three guard setup that worked against Cleveland is the only worrisome idea when it comes to our total. But with Houston maintaining size at the three, I am not sure if Coach Kuester will try it for the Pistons. Detroit is hard pressed to put up legitimate points on the road and especially against a decent to good defense, going under our proposed total the last four games. This will be a hard fought game as the talent level for both is not enough to win on that alone. The teamwork and know-how of Rick Adelman’s Houston Rockets is what will be the difference and with Houston in control, this game will stay under. I was guessing at-a-tops of low 190s, but they gave us a gift at over 200.
Washington Wizards @ Los Angeles Lakers – With my luck at Staples Center last night, how could I not go back to the well? Washington is still winless on the road and looks very similar to the Sacramento Kings, but they should both be better, but talent doesn’t necessitate wins. Teamwork, coaching and raw energy are what is needed in this league and with the antics of those who shall remain nameless, still clouding the future, it is time for fresh beginnings. Hinrich is a nice piece and mentor for John Wall and Young, McGee, Booker and others seem to be playing the right way for Flip Saunders. I may be a little leery taking the Lakers if they hadn’t just won, but with the benches prowess and the Lakers showing their class against the bottom feeders. They are only losing to better teams on bad nights, which The Wiz are definitely not yet capable of. The only issue is the 12! I hope to see a similar performance like on the third versus the Queens.
Phoenix hasn’t let me down this year, Denver getting a field goal and this team has their coach firmly supplanted, I’m not joshin’ yah. Warriors headed to D. and getting nine, is D.Lee ready to play at his earlier season level?
