The marquee match up for this Tuesday night in the NBA, has got to be the LA Lakers visiting the Bucks. Portland also visits Memphis which would have been a good game to watch, but without Brandon Roy it will not be as good as first expected. I believe it was voted for the NBA Fan Night.
It’s good to be back and after a week off the NBA has not lost its sizzle. What have you missed? No more undefeated teams, but a surprising stat is that the Hornets and Spurs are at 8-1 not the Lakers. Indiana Pacers shot 20/21 in the 3rd Q vs Denver, missing their last shot of the quarter! Miami is in a place where they won’t even secure home court advantage in the playoffs currently.
NBA Betting Picks for Tuesday, November 16th:
Toronto Raptors @ Washington Wizards – With the Raptors playing tough against the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat I look for them to stay at that level and not come down to the rate of play offered by the Wiz. This is not the Washington team that kills Toronto on the boards and beats them into submission by pounding it inside.
Fifty percent of the last eight games played between these two have gone into overtime and that is a big indicator to the over and also the spread being at just one. With injuries it hurts the interior defense of the Raptors D, losing Kleiza and Evans who are dinged up and available part-time at best. Also what negates the over and helps T.O. is that Arenas, Jianlian and Blatche are hurt, but without John Wall, Gilbert’s defensive start will be the key. Toronto may be at a high for their season after competently competing against the Lakers and carrying it onto Orlando and Miami. A sad factor at 2-8 as they will need all the small victories and learn a lot from their defeats. Washington lost two of three to Canada’s team last year and it looks to be the same type of an outcome.
Los Angeles Lakers @ Milwaukee Bucks – These teams are heading in different directions after opposing starts to this season. L.A. has lost two straight after going 8-0 to start. Milwaukee has won four of five after starting 1-4 and three wins in a row. The MRI was negative on Lamar Odom’s right foot, but still not sure when he is due back, so that hurts the Lakers without Bynum still. For the Bucks Carlos Delfino is a lot more important than most would know. But due to neck issues and dizziness still being an problem, the Bucks will again need to muster up the effort and magic to knock off the Champion Lakers. The supporting cast of Los Angeles has gotten a lot better and the veteran presence has helped and will do so throughout this season. But when you go old, they’re always drawbacks, like lack of energy from time to time and minor injuries nagging the old-timers and causing them to miss games, which is the issue for Steve Blake and Theo Ratliff.
They’re so many match ups tonight that could go either way that all the games are very hard to predict a winner in. As you can see by my relying on the Toronto Raptors and a desperate Lakers squad.
