NBA has a three-pack available for Thursday night. Headlined by the Orlando Magic visiting Oregon for a 10:30 pm ET match up.
NBA Betting Picks for Thursday, December 9th:
Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers – Philly can win at home, but history suggests they are a man short in this match up. Since the ‘BIG 3’ were brought together by Danny Ainge, they are undefeated when visiting Phila. They’ve won six straight on the road against the Sixers and eight total overall. With the man-games lost due to injury, piling up, Boston is still winning. When the Celtics faced Cleveland and New Jersey in their most recent road games they won by 19 and 25! I have no hesitation when pulling the trigger on this one, it may be closer with a back to back, but giving up only five is amazing in my book. The Sixers only game that BOS should watch is them against Portland, when they won by nine. Philadelphia hasn’t beaten anybody else worthwhile in their last five.

Orlando Magic @ Portland Trailblazers – With both teams ending their winning and losing streaks, to start the opposite, it would usually be a hard match up to predict. The sheer issue of a team illness is what has sidelined the Magic’s win streak and getting Brandon Roy back for the Blazers for which whom hijacked their offense and gave them at least 100 points in back to back games. A feat not to be overlooked as they lost the last three, by not attaining the mark, a need that has to happen as their defense is not as stout on the road. In career numbers all the names and go-to guys for ORL have struggled on the road against POR. In this very same match up that took place last season it was a 102-87 win for the Blazers.
Orlando VS Portland – With all of the above feeling ill and under the weather, hurting their reserves to amass a late game comeback as per usual. Even with all the Magic’s big name players back on Monday, they struggled to gain a points scored mark, that they usually hit before the end of a normal third quarter. Playing Atlanta in Orlando, was not a good sign for this offense, as they play inside out and drive and kick basketball. So the person passing it back to the 3-pt shooters has to work hard to create the open shots for his teammates. Usually residing on the shoulders of Nelson or Howard. If Portland plays the defense I know they can, this game should not come near the number. As long as their size in the front court doesn’t get into early foul trouble they can stay close and wear down the medically struggling Magic team.
The only other game, which I am not taking sides is New Jersey v. Dallas. I do however think the total is worth a look.
