NBA Predictions and Free Picks December 11th:
Houston Rockets vs. Philadelphia 76ers:
Spread – HOU -3 (-105)
Over/Under – 194
Houston comes into this one with a 6-1 record against teams below the .500 mark, a category in which Philadelphia easily sits in. Although Houston has a strong starting 5, Carl Landry is averaging 16.1 points per game, the most among non-starters in the NBA. Houston is also coming off a 95-65 road win in Cleveland, which tells me they will be able to cover the 3 point spread.
Free Pick – HOU -3 at -115
Orlando Magic vs. Phoenix Suns:
Spread – PHX -3 (-110)
Over/Under – 213
The Phoenix Suns come into this game without a home loss this season, and they also average almost 13 points per game more at home than the road. Orlando failed to set a franchise record lastnight after dropping a 120-111 decision to the Jazz, a game in which the Magic lead for a good period of time. Phoenix has one of the most potent offenses in the NBA, while Orlando can put up points as well. I look for a high scoring game tonight in the desert.
Free Pick – OVER 213 at -110
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers:
Spread – LAL -15.5 (-110)
Over/Under – 198
The Minnesota are the NBA’s second worst team next to the New Jersey Nets, and have a 2-15 record within the Western Conference. The Lakers on the other hand sit first in the Western Conference and have a 11-3 record within the West. At the Staples Centre vs. the Timberwolves, the Lakers are 15-4 all time, 8 of their last 10, and 6 in a row. The Lakers offense is just much too powerful, and the Lakers are good at beating up on the bad teams.
Free Pick – LAL -15.5 at -110
