NBA Predictions and Free Picks January 8th:

Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks – The Boston Celtics come into this one as the 2nd best team in the NBA, thanks to a crazy victory on Wednesday that saw the Celtics tie the game with no time left on the clock.  Boston has a very impressive road record of 14-4 on the season, while Atlanta is no slouch at home, going 13-4 so far this season on home court.  The home team is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 between these two, but the more interesting stats see the OVER going 4-1 in the last 5 in Atlanta between these two and 7-3 in the last 10 overall.  I am leaning towards the over tonight in Atlanta in what should be the game of the night.

Free Pick – OVER 196 at -110

Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs – The Dallas Mavericks have managed to creep their way up the Western Conference standings all the way to the 2nd spot.  San Antonio has been better within the last month or so, currently sitting in 5th spot in the Western Conference.  Dallas has an impressive road road of 12-6, and are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meeting with these Spurs.  Dallas has been a good road team to bet on this year, as they are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games.  The Mavs are also 11-4 ATS in their last 15 in San Antonio which makes me lean towards the road team in tonight’s action.

Free Pick – MAVERICKS +4.5 at -110

Orlando Magic @ Washington Wizards – The Magic are coming off a disappointing loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, a game they almost came back from a 15+ point differential in, but just falling short.  Orlando sits in 3rd in the East and have a road record of 11-7 this season, while the Wizards sit 8 spots back of the Magic, with a home record of just 5-9.  The favorite is 4-1 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two, and the Magic are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games in Washington.  These trends make me lean towards the Magic to cover tonight in Washington.

Free Pick – MAGIC -8 at -105
