The Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets are meeting in Colorado on Wednesday night. The Thunder are coming off a 131-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
It was a sad effort from the Thunder, as they were chased off the floor versus the not-so-good Kings team. The Kings had lost four straight before getting back on track in that win over the Thunder.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is back on the floor for the Thunder, but he’s without Josh Giddey, Luguentz Dort, and Mike Muscala. Gilgeous-Alexander can do what he can to carry the Thunder, though some help is required.
The Thunder are without depth right now, even when they are healthy. However, the Thunder are a team looking at the future anyway, so they might as well throw this year away and get another high draft pick.
They are going into tonight with a record of 19-42 and losses in eight of their previous ten outings. This doesn’t look good for the Thunder in Denver tonight.
OKC is short-handed and doesn’t have a roster to keep up with the Nuggets even if they’re healthy. However, pride kicks in sometimes, and getting punched in the mouth makes a team stand regardless of talent.
Denver is coming off a victory over a short-handed Trail Blazers squad. Portland had no chance, as they were run off the court in a 124-92 final. This could be the same game if the Thunder bring the same effort.

Thunder vs. Nuggets Prediction:
The Thunder will have to find a scoring touch in this one, which I don’t feel the most confidence in them accomplishing in Denver.
OKC is 30th in the NBA with 101.9 points per game and a 42.1% FGA. They can’t shoot from beyond the arc, which is really hurting their offensive output.
Don’t look for the Thunder to come through in Denver against the Nugget defense. With a three-point percentage of 31.2%, the Thunder aren’t keeping up with their opponents. They are 30th in that regard as well.
Denver has one of the best defenses on the perimeter in the league. They can bully teams into forcing turnovers as well. This is what will likely happen tonight.
The Nuggets have allowed a 33.4% three-point percentage for the second-best defense in the league. Overall, the Nuggets have allowed 107.6 points per game for 12th in the NBA.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets Betting Trends:
- 1-6 ATS in their previous seven games at Denver
- 4-13 ATS in their previous 17 games versus the Nuggets
- 21-10-4 ATS in their previous 35 games
- UNDER is 6-1 in their previous seven games versus a team with a winning record at home
- UNDER is 6-2 in their previous eight games after a loss by more than 10 points
- 7-2 ATS in their previous nine games
- 5-2 ATS in their previous seven games after a win
- 2-7 ATS in thier previous nine games at home
- 1-5 ATS in their previous six games versus a team with a losing record on the road
- UNDER is 4-1 in their previous five games versus a team with a winning percentage worse than 40%
The Thunder offense is going to consist of Gilgeous-Alexander and not much else. Someone will have to step up with him for the Thunder to have a chance. They’re just too banged up right now.
The Nuggets’ defense should be able to encircle Gilgeous-Alexander and make him beat them under constant pressure. I don’t see that going well.
OKC will have to lean on their defense to keep this one close. All things considered, the Thunder are holding up well on the defensive end.
They are in the top-10 with a 45% FGA and a 34.2% three-point percentage against. The Thunder have allowed 108.8 points per game going into tonight.
It isn’t likely leading them to a win, but maybe enough to wiggle room to keep this one within the number. They won’t do much offensively, though. I will point towards the UNDER in a 118-104 or 121-97 game in Denver.
