Orlando Magic vs Golden State Warriors NBA Pick – November 26th

The NBA starts out a new week of action with seven games on Monday night. The Orlando Magic will meet up against the Golden State Warriors to end the night. The game will be hosted by Golden State at 10:30 Eastern Time. Orlando and Golden State are both currently sitting in playoff spots in opposite conferences, which makes me believe that this could be a good game.

The Magic have gone 10-10 to begin the new season. Orlando is tied for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with the Boston Celtics. The Magic won on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Lakers. Orlando’s win against the Lakers was able to end a two-game losing streak. The Magic will look to win games in back to back days on Monday night.

Golden State has started out this season with a 14-7 record. The Warriors are currently at the top of the Western Conference. The Warriors have hit a rough patch recently. Golden State won their last two games, but the Warriors have lost four of their last six games. Golden State will look to continue their winning streak.

The Warriors and the Magic will meet for the first time on Monday night. Orlando and Golden State will meet one more time after Monday’s matchup on February 28. Golden State has been the better team over the last couple season’s and they will look to prove it with a win over the Magic at home.

Last Season’s Matchups

Orlando and Golden State met up a total of two times last season. Golden State hosted the first matchup between these two teams. Nikola Vucevic led the Magic in points with 20, but it was not enough. Kevin Durant scored 21 points, while Draymond Green scored another 20. The Warriors pulled off a 110-100 win.

The Magic hosted the second game of the season between these two teams. Aaron Gordan scored 29 points for Orlando. Evan Fournier dropped another 22 for the Magic. Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant combined for 75 points. The Warriors strong performance from their starters helped propel them to a 133-112 win.

Golden State went 2-0 last season against the Magic last season. The Warriors have won ten games in a row against Orlando. Golden State last lost a game to the Magic in 2013. The Magic will look to knock off the Warriors in the middle of their early-season struggles this season.

The Magic have avoided most injuries this season. Orlando is only missing Timofey Mozgov, who has not appeared yet this season. The Magic has been able to keep all of its key players, which has been a large reason for their moderate success this season.

Golden State has been hit pretty hard with injuries this season. The Warriors are without DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins has not played yet this season, but when he makes his entrance it should really help push Golden State to the top. The Warriors are also without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Golden State still has a strong roster, but they could continue to struggle with these injuries. Curry and Green could return to the lineup soon.

Stephen Curry has averaged 30 points and 6 assists per game in his 12 appearances this season. Draymond Green is averaging 7 points, 7 assists and 8 rebounds per game. These two players both have big roles in the lineup.

Top Performers

Orlando has been led by the big men in their lineup. Nikola Vucevic has averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds per game from the Center spot. Aaron Gordan has dropped 17 points and 8 rebounds per game at Power Forward. Evan Fournier has scored 16 points per game this season. Terrence Ross has been the Magic’s best player off the bench. He is averaging 13 points per game.

Kevin Durant has averaged 28 points and 8 rebounds per game. Klay Thompson is averaging 23 points per game this season. Quinn Cook has been averaging 10 points per game this season. Cook has seen extra time since Curry has been out recently.

The Magic will need to take advantage of their size in the paint if they want to pull off the upset on the road. Golden State will likely have Kevin Durant and Damian Jones play defense in the paint if Draymond Green is out. Orlando will need to play tight defense on the Warriors shooters. Klay Thompson could find a lot of open looks with Evan Fournier on him.

Pick Overview

The Magic will be playing their second game in two nights. I believe that Orlando will be playing a little bit tired on Monday night. This will give an edge to the Warriors, who already have the better team. Golden State may be littered with injuries, but I believe that they can still dominate this Orlando lineup. The Warriors have dominated Orlando recently and I believe that they keep it up with a win at home.

BetOnline has Golden State listed as a -8 against the spread. On top of that, the Warriors have a better money line against the spread at -105. The Warriors have struggled recently, and I believe that they will continue to break out of it with a win against the Magic. I believe Orlando will not be able to keep up with Golden State’s lineup after playing the day before. I am taking the Warriors at home against the spread.
