Welcome back Russell Westbrook. Wow. The electric point guard gave the Thunder and their fan base something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving; that the season is still alive thanks to the quicker-than-anticipated return of one of the best athletes on the planet. Westbrook returned with a fury, scoring 32 points and recording 8 assists in just 24 minutes of action as the Thunder absolutely lay waste to the Knicks.
Meanwhile, we notched an easy NBA winner as the Grizzlies resumed their dominance over the Blazers with a commanding road win to move to 14-2 and keep a half-game ahead of Golden State for the best record in the NBA. Toronto WAS even in the race for best record in their league until their home loss to Dallas. It’s easy to chalk it up as just one loss against a good team, but also easy to look at is as another chance to validate their legitimate NBA contender status gone by the wayside and another tough blow for the Eastern Conference in their battle for respect…
Let’s see if we can string together another winner tonight with today’s free pick.

Today’s Free Pick:
Houston Rockets vs. Milwaukee Bucks -2(Total: 188.5)
The Milwaukee Bucks enter tonight’s game at 10-7 and in solid playoff position in the Eastern Conference. Before we go any further into this pick, that accomplishment deserves a mention and a nice bow of respect. Say what you want about Jason Kidd’s ungraceful exit out of Brooklyn, but looking at the job he’s done so far and the bevy of young talent in Milwaukee, it’s looking like both he and the Bucks were actually… smart.
SO, are they better than the Rockets? Of course not. How about at home? Nope. Still not even close. But they are playing the “rockets” tonight, not the Houston Rockets. Dwight Howard is making the trip but is unlikely to play. Isaiah Cannon, the backup who was sparkling filling in for Patrick Beverly, sprained his ankle in last night’s loss to the Clippers and neither are making the trip tonight. Add in the injury to Terrance Jones and this is a severely shorthanded ballclub tonight.
Houston is a shorthanded team playing without both of their point guards, and playing the back end of a back-to-back on the road. It sounds odd to type, but Milwaukee should probably be favored by more tonight . The Bucks have been very good at home at 5-2 and are surprisingly more efficient than the Rockets offensively, despite their youth, shooting 2.6% higher from the floor.
I’ll take the young Bucks to get a nice home win.
