The Chicago Bulls return home on a back-to-back to welcome the Sacramento Kings to the United Center. They are coming off a hard-fought 112-105 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. It was a solid defensive effort for the Bulls against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, though ultimately could never put together a run to overtake the Sixers. With the loss for the Bulls, they have slipped to 12-16 on the season.
The loss prevented a three-game winning streak for the Bulls. They were 120-112 winners over the Indiana Pacers and 105-102 over the Detroit Pistons going into Philadelphia. Depending on how you look at it, the Bulls may or may not get a break tonight with the Kings in town at the United Center. They do not get a team rolling in that is incapable of scoring the basketball. The Kings are an exciting, young squad that will run the floor and run the scoreboard up if the Bulls are tired from playing the 76ers last night.
When I initially looked at this spread, I was like, oh yeah, this looks like a steal on the Bulls getting plus money. However, does that not look a bit fishy? The Bulls a home dog against the Kings? I’m obviously not playing the side for that reason, but just something to monitor. If you want to play the Kings or Bulls, I would want to see where the line goes first. The Bulls can certainly win on a back-to-back, but they are going to have to re-focus quickly for the Kings.
They can’t dwell on the loss against the 76ers on Friday in Philadelphia. The Kings are looking to end a five-game losing streak in Chicago tonight. Before this skid, the Kings were a game above .500 at 12-11. How quickly that faded away for the Kings, who have been getting drilled defensively recently. Consistently scoring more than 110 points should not result in a five-game losing streak.
In their most recent defeat, the Kings lost by a score of 118-110 against the Miami Heat at home. The Heat were coming off a blown game against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco, but the Kings were unable to offer much resistance against a tired Heat team. We’ll see if they can against the Bulls on the road in Chicago tonight. Head below for our free Kings vs. Bulls pick on February 20, 2021.
Sacramento Kings vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Betting Odds:
Kings vs. Bulls Prediction:
The key for the Bulls in this one is going to be making sure that they’re interested in playing defense tonight. I’m sure there could be a good chance of them getting a bit lazy after running around trying to contain the 76ers last night on the road. The Kings are a team that could find an edge from that angle. They are 12th in the NBA with an average of 113.7 points scored per game. This team has registered at least 110 points in nine straight games.
Despite scoring 113.6 points per game in their previous five outings, the Kings don’t have a win to show for their effort. Why? Easy. The Kings have gotten walloped for 124 points against per game. Their 118-110 loss against the Heat, against a team that has been struggling offensively recently and is banged up with Dragic, was the Kings’ best defensive effort through their previous five outings.
Overall in the 2020-21 campaign, the Kings rank among the worst in the NBA with an average of 119.3 points against per game. That is good for 29th in the league, with only the Washington Wizards allowing more points by 0.2. They are dead last in field goal percentage against. Teams have been lighting the Wizards up for 48.6% from the field. The Bulls might be too tired to put forth a complete defensive effort, but the offense should still be there against a Kings squad that struggles to defend.
The Bulls are recording an average of 114.2 points per game, and 47.6% shooting from the field, both good for the top-10 in the league. The last time they danced against the Kings, it was an easy outing offensively with 124 points. Easy win? Nope. The Bulls ultimately lost that game, 128-124, because of their anemic defensive effort. Three of their previous four meetings have gone OVER the total. I see about 240 points on the board to push another Kings and Bulls contest OVER.
