Patrick Beverly scored 19 points to help give Los Angeles a 102-84 win at home.
The second matchup of the season series was also hosted by the Clippers. Austin Rivers had a big night as he dropped 25 points. Lou Williams put up 20 points, but it was not enough for Los Angeles. The third game of the season series shifted to Utah. Lou Williams had a big night for the Clippers as he put up 31 points and 10 steals. Blake Griffin had 25 points and 8 rebounds. Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points for the Jazz. Utah’s starting lineup combined for 86 points as the Jazz cruised to a 125-113 victory at home.
The fourth and final game of the season series stayed in Utah. Austin Rivers dropped 19 points, while Montrezl Harrell put up 17 points. Donovan Mitchell dropped 19 points. Derrick Favors scored points, while five other players dropped double-digit points for the Jazz. Utah was able to finish out the season series with a 117-95 win at home.
The Jazz have won the last three games against Los Angeles. The Clippers have been off to a better start this season. Utah went onto make the playoffs last season, but were knocked out in the second round. Los Angeles missed out by a couple games on the last playoff spot. The Clippers will look for some revenge at home on Wednesday night.
The Jazz have been led by Donovan Mitchell this season. Mitchell has dropped an average of 21.5 points per game. Rudy Gobert has done a good job holding down the paint. Gobert is averaging 15 points and 13 rebounds per game. Joe Ingles and Jae Crowder are both averaging 12 points per game, Crowder has spent most of the season coming off the bench. Derrick Favors rounds out the lineup as he averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds per game. The Jazz will need their big men to put up a strong performance guarding the paint on Wednesday night.
Tobias Harris has been doing a really solid job for Los Angeles this season. Harris has averaged 21 points and 8 rebounds per game. Danilo Gallinari is averaging 20 points per game from the other forward spot. The Clippers get a lot of their production from their bench as well. Los Angeles has seen Lou Williams average 18.5 points and 5 assists off the bench and Montrezl Harrell average 16 points and 7 rebounds per game.
The Clippers will look for their bench to help them take over this game. Crowder and Harrell could match up and that should be a good pairing to watch off the bench. Utah is without their Point Guard, Ricky Rubio, which could lead to a good night for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Mitchell will matchup against Avery Bradley, who is a solid defender, which could lead to a slower night for Mitchell.
Los Angeles struggled against the Jazz last season, going 3-1 in the season series. I believe the Clippers will bounce back with a win on Wednesday night. Los Angeles has a lot of solid matchups in the lineup that could give them a solid edge against the Jazz. The Clippers are on a losing streak and I believe it ends with a home win on Wednesday night.
BetOnline has Los Angeles listed as a -2 against the spread for Wednesday night’s matchup. The Clippers are at home and I believe that they should be favored. Two points is not a big spread though for Los Angeles at home. I believe that the Clippers will use their matchups in the lineup to pull of the victory against the Jazz. I am taking Los Angeles against the spread on Wednesday night.
