Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets NBA Pick – Game 3

The NBA is set up with another great slate of action throughout Thursday night. Three playoff games are up on the board throughout April 21. One of these games will be between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets. These two teams have been solid throughout this season and will look for a big win in this one. This game will tip off at around 10:00 PM Eastern time on TNT.

Golden State finished out the regular season with a record of 53-29, which had them grab the third seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors set the pace of this series at home, going up 2-0 in those games. Golden State will look to carry that momentum into this road game. I expect the Warriors to come out fast as they try to take a stranglehold on the series.

The Nuggets put up a record of 48-34 during the regular season, which had them in sixth place of the Western Conference. Denver has struggled early on in this series, but will look to bounce back at home. The Nuggets are a strong team and will look to get their home crowd into it early. Denver will look to avoid falling down 3-0 with a huge win on Thursday.

These two teams will look for a pivotal win as they meet up in Game 3 of this series.

The Warriors were the better team on the regular season and have picked it up in the playoffs. Denver will look to bounce back with a full building of their own fans. If either team can come out quickly in this one, it could be enough for the win.

These two teams met up in Game 1 of this series on April 16. Jordan Poole put up 30 points, while Klay Thompson added 19 points as the Warriors earned a 123-107 win. The second game of this series was on April 18. Nikola Jokic scored 26 points and 11 rebounds, but it was not enough. Steph Curry dropped 34 points and Poole added another 29 points. Golden State earned a 126-106 win.

Field Goal Shooting

The Warriors have been strong shooting the ball in the playoffs. Golden State has shot 53.6 percent from the field, which is 2nd in the league. The Warriors have made 44 percent of their shots from deep, which is 4th in the postseason. Golden State has also drained 71.7 percent of their shots from the free throw line, which is 15th in the playoffs.

Denver has struggled a bit shooting the ball in this series. The Nuggets have made 44.4 percent of their shots from the field, which is 12th in the league. Denver has been shooting 33.8 percent from behind the arc, which is 12th in the postseason. The Nuggets have sunk 85.3 percent of their shots from the charity stripe, which is 5th in the playoffs.

Golden State has been much better shooting the ball in the first two games of this series. The Warriors have also continued their strong defensive presence they had in the playoffs. Denver will look to step up early in this one as they look for a big win. If either team can come out hot shooting the ball, it could be enough to lift them to the win.

Top Performers

Jordan Poole has been strong for Golden State to open up this series. Poole is averaging 29.5 points and 5.5 assists per game. Steph Curry has averaged 25 points per game off the bench as he comes back from his ankle injury. Klay Thompson is averaging 20 points per game, while Andrew Wiggins has averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds to round out the lineup.

Nikola Jokic has continued to be the leader for the Nuggets in this series. Jokic has averaged 25.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5 assists per game to round out the lineup. Will Barton is averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds per game. Monte Morris and Bones Hyland round out the lineup, both averaging 11 points per game.

These two teams have been led by their stars this series. The Warriors have seen strong production Poole early, who has stepped up with Curry still not at 100%. Denver needs players like Jeff Green and Aaron Gordon to step up as they have struggled early in the series. If either team can get some depth players to come out hot, it could be enough to lead them to the win.

Pick Overview

These two teams have been strong throughout this season and will look for a big win in Game 3 of this series. Denver dropped the first two meetings on the road, but I expect them to come out faster as the series shifts back home. The Nuggets should be giving more support to Jokic so the big man can take over. If Denver can grab an early lead, I like their chances to earn a big win on Thursday.

Bovada has Golden State listed as a -125 against the money line in this one.

This implies that the Warriors will win this game around 55.6 percent of the time. I think that this line should be closer to even with Denver back at home. The Nuggets are still a strong team and I think they will come out fast with their home fans buzzing. As underdogs, I really like the value on Denver at home.
