Washington Wizards at Los Angeles Lakers – NBA February 22

10 p.m. ET – Wizards at Lakers (-7) O/U: 228½

Teams Spread Money Line Total Points
Washington Wizards +7 (-115) +220 O 228½ (-110)
Los Angeles Lakers -7 (-105) -270 U 228½ (-110)

The 10-17 Wizards remain out on the road on a West Coast swing to play the 22-9 Lakers in Los Angeles on Monday night. Washington has won four games in a row, including a 118-111 win in Portland on Saturday night. Los Angeles has lost two in a row inside the Staples Center, most recently a 96-94 loss to the Heat on Saturday. The Lakers shot 39 percent in that matchup, and LeBron James shot a season-low 33 percent from the field.

Washington Wizards LogoBradley Beal has been phenomenal for the Wizards this season, leading the NBA in scoring with 32.9 points per game. Offseason acquisition Russell Westbrook has found his groove after a bit of a slow start and is now averaging 19.3 points, 9.7 assists, and 9.5 rebounds per game.

Los Angeles Lakers LogoThe Lakers are without star Anthony Davis (Achilles) and Dennis Schroder (COVID-19 protocols). James, Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris are all listed as probable for Monday night’s game. Assuming they will all be suiting up, the majority of the workload will fall as usual on James.

Please Note:
James leads the team with 25.6 points and 7.9 assists per game. James struggled on Saturday night, but he eclipsed 30 points in the first two Lakers matchups without Davis in the lineup. While Los Angeles admittedly has struggled offensively because of the absences of Davis and Schroder, they have maintained success on the defensive end of the floor. All three games without Davis have gone below the Over/Under betting total. Furthermore, one of the main reasons for the Wizards’ recent success after a horrible start to their season has been the improvement of their defense. Expect the Lakers to win this game with defense, with the best betting play to have the two teams combined to go Under the O/U the total of 228½ points.
The Bets
UNDER 228½
