Broncos Raiders Spread Betting Odds and Predictions

The Denver Broncos will try and avenge an historic beat down by the Raiders 59 – 14 in week 7 at Mile High Stadium. In that game, the Broncos gave up over yards 500 yards of offense and 7 TDs in front of their home crowd. The Raiders burnt them for almost 330 yards on the ground alone, and this week Denver will be looking for revenge in Oakland. Denver will not be making the playoffs this season and this will be their second game with interim head coach Eric Studesville. This is Studesville’s first stint as a head coach in the NFL, and he’s up against it for the remainder of the season with a lackluster group of Broncos who have had trouble getting inspired all year.

Denver began the season in promising fashion with wins over Seattle, in Tennessee and a close loss to the Jets at Invesco Field. But their defense soon plummeted and they’re now on a 4 game losing streak after blowing out the Chiefs in week 10. Sources close to the team believe they’ll blow it up at the end of the year, but until then they’ve got 3 more games to worry about and a future QB to consider. Kyle Orton won’t play this week after sustaining an injury in a loss to the Cardinals last week. Tim Tebow is likely to get his first NFL start this week in relief of Orton, and it’ll be interesting to see how the college hype machine plays. A steady run game would be perfect for Tebow to work with, but unfortunately the team that drafted him have one of the worst running games in the league. Ranking 29th in rushing yards, Denver amass a mere 89 yards per game. Tebow will be throwing the ball this week whether he likes it or not.

The Raiders have played very well this season, and a few weeks back I wrote about their most important asset: Tom Cable. Coach Cable has shut the critics up and has gotten the best out of his players. He has Raider fans and players believing they can win big games against the big name teams. Case in point, two huge wins over the Chargers this year, and a win this week would improve their division record and put them at 7-7, putting the pressure on the Chiefs to win a tough road game. RB Darren McFadden should be on display this week against a very poor Broncos run defense that gives up over 150 yards on the ground per game. That’s worst in the NFL.

Broncos vs. Raiders Prediction for Week 15 Betting:

Game Total Prediction (Top Play): The Broncos offensive rankings are hard to go by in this game because they’ve got a new head coach and first time starter playing. Usually an under achieving team playing for a new coach during the season improves their play (see Vikings and Cowboys this year), but the Broncos aren’t under achieving because they really don’t have the talent needed to win games right now. They’re far better with Kyle Orton at QB than Tim Tebow, no matter which way you look at it. The Broncos receivers had great chemistry with Orton, and Tebow can’t throw the deep ball nearly as well as Orton can. The Broncos won’t score enough points to take this number over, and the Raiders will run the ball taking time off the clock.

Top Play Prediction = Under 42.

Spread Prediction: Like I said above, I really don’t know where the Broncos offense will come from. The line is set accordingly and this game looks like it could go the same way the Chargers Chiefs went last week with the Chargers winning 31-0. The Broncos season is over and the Raiders are a well coached team who’ve proven they can get up for games against poor teams.

Prediction = Raiders -7.5
