CFL Picks – Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers July 14th

Tonight the Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers will square off in Winnipeg to kick off Week 3 of the CFL.  For those looking to get some football betting action in before the college and hopefully NFL season, this is a great opportunity.  If I get a good enough response for writing these CFL picks articles I will continue to do so for games that I think I have found an edge in.  Leave a Facebook “like” at the bottom of this article if you are interested in reading CFL picks articles from me!

The Blue Bombers enter tonight’s game with a 2-0 record, beating Hamilton 24-16 on the road in the opening weekend, and then beating Toronto 22-16 at home last Friday.  Calgary is 1-1, as they had a home opener loss to the Toronto Argonauts, and then went on to beat BC in a close 34-32 game last Friday.  Tonight’s game will be a great test for both teams to see where they sit, with Winnipeg having a chance to move to a surprising 3-0 to start the season.

Tonight’s CFL Pick

I am rolling with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers tonight, getting the 3.5 points at home.  Starting the season 2-0 can do a lot for your confidence as a team, and I think it will show in tonight’s game in front of their home crowd (which was a nice 27,638 in their opener).  The Blue Bombers defense has held opponents to just 16 points in both of their first two games, and although the Stampeders offense will be more of a test, I think they can continue to play well.

These two teams met in Winnipeg last season in November with the Stampeders being 3 point favorites.  We saw a push with a 35-32 Calgary victory thanks to a late field goal.

Note that Calgary is 0-4-1 Against The Spread (ATS) in their last 5 meetings in Winnipeg.  The Stampeders are also 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.  Note that the Blue Bombers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall.

This early in the season, with the Blue Bombers playing well, I have to take the 3.5 points and run.  My money is on Winnipeg tonight with the points.
