Florida State Virginia Tech Spread Line and Predictions

The ACC Championship game this Saturday (7:45pm ET) in Charlotte, NC will feature two familiar conference title contenders in the 20th-ranked Florida State Seminoles (9-3, 6-2 in ACC) and the 12th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies (10-2, 8-0). Florida St. is looking to re-establish themselves as a national and conference power after not finishing with a top 5-ranking at the end of the season since 2000, when they defeated Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl 46-29 to win the National Title. FSU will be seeking its first BCS Bowl bid since 2005, when they knocked off 5th ranked Hokies 27-22 to win the first ACC Championship Game. The Hokies have the momentum on their side however, capping a 10-game winning streak after their 0-2 start with a 31-7 dismantling of in-state rival Virginia last week.

Florida St. vs. Virginia Tech ACC Championship Predictions:

Spread Prediction (Top Play) – Virginia Tech has been on a serious roll since the third week of the season and comes into this game firing on all cylinders. Look for the Hokies to come out strong on both sides of the ball and dominate the Seminoles. Florida St. has surprised the Hokies before and has the edge in head-to-head play throughout the series, but this Virginia Tech team seems to be on a mission and should dominate this matchup on both sides of the ball throughout the game.

PREDICTION (Top Play) – Virginia Tech -3.5

Over/Under Prediction – Take the under here, solid defenses on both sides combined with tough running games should make for a low-scoring affair down in Charlotte. Expect both teams to try to establish the run, but with two of the top 13 scoring defenses in the country playing in this game points will be at a premium. FSU in particular could struggle on offense with their quarterback Ponder nursing an elbow injury.
