Miami (OH.) vs. Ohio Pick:
Ohio won last season’s meeting by a score of 34-13 in Oxford as an 18 point underdog. The Bobcats held Miami to only 14 yards rushing on 20 carries, and controlled the time of possession by holding the ball for over 35 minutes en route to the victory. The Redhawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss. The Bobcats are 9-2 TAS in their last 11 November games and 18-8 ATS in their last 26 MAC games. The under is 5-1 In Miami’s last 6 November games and 10-4 in their last 14 MAC games. The over is 11-5 in the Bobcats’ last 16 games overall and 9-2 in their last 11 November games. In head-to-head play, the favorite is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the Redhawks are 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings between the two teams.
Dysert had a rough game as a sophomore in last season’s meeting, throwing 4 interceptions despite putting up 332 yards through the air. The Bobcats present a formidable challenge at home and with a tough defense and a dual-threat quarterback who could test the Redhawks’ soft run defense (162.7 YPG, 69th nationally). Miami has a lot of problems converting the yardage Dysert accumulates through the air into points, but they are playing against an Ohio U team that has already clinched the MAC Eastern Division title and a spot in the MAC Championship Game. Ohio U has nothing to play for in this game other than pride, and they have been and up-and-down type of team all season long. Look for Miami to come out strong and look to make a statement that they are a better team than they have showed this season knowing they have nothing to lose also. Take Miami as an upset pick on the road in this one.
