Oklahoma St Kansas St Spread Line and Predictions CFB Week 9

The Oklahoma State Cowboys try to put a tough home loss to Nebraska behind them as they travel to Manhattan, Kansas to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. The home side Wildcats are coming off of a tough loss to Baylor. In the game the Wildcats scored 42 points but surrendered 47. If there is a scary point for this Kansas State team as they move forward it must be the play of their defense. They come in at 100th nationally in total defense, 118th in rush defense and have given up 40 + points in two of their four Big 12 games. The Cowboy offense, which comes in the top 3 nationally in total yards, passing yards and points should be licking their chops as they prepare to take on a Kansas State defense that must be without any confidence after surrendering 47 to Baylor last week.

The Cowboys made a heck of a game out of it last week. Nebraska beat them 51-41 but you can imagine how exciting it was for the neutral fan. Fan or not, the college football world has had their breath taken away when watching this dominant Oklahoma State Cowboy offense. There is little they can do that is not successful. The Cowboy offense is led by quarterback Brandon Weeden (2249 yards, 21 touchdowns, 66.5 % completion rate), running back Kendall Hunter (1075 total yards, 12 touchdowns) and star wide receiver Justin Blackmon (62 catches, 1112 yards, 14 touchdowns). When all cylinders are working it’s a beautiful thing to see. But, Blackmon might not play. He was pulled over for a DUI and his status remains uncertain though it’s likely he won’t play. Even without him, the Cowboys have a slew of options to use against a poor K-State defense.

Kansas State offers such hope to their fans only to be crushed at times. They started the season off 4-0 and hosted Nebraska at home on a Thursday night primetime ESPN kickoff. They got slammed, 48-13, and it seemed their good start to the season was nothing of major significance. Then, they played archrivals Kansas away and won 59-7 and all was back on track. Then, last week— they score 42 points and lose. What to make of it all? Who knows? But, one thing is certain: it will sure be exciting. One thing we can count on is some points. Judging by how the teams have been tackling lately it should be a shootout and maybe, maybe, Kansas State can pull it out in front of their home fans.

Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State Predictions for Week 9:

Spread Prediction (Top Play) –Even with Blackmon out, the Cowboy offense is going to be scoring on just about anyone they play. Throw in the fact they are going against one of the worst defenses in the country and it could spell disaster for the home side Wildcats. Kansas State will be moving the ball as well—no questions about that. But, the visiting Cowboys should find the tough a little easier this week versus Kansas State than last week against Nebraska. Cowboys here.

Spread Prediction (Top Play) = Oklahoma State -5

Game Total Prediction – 66.5 points is a LOT in college football. But, judging by the way the teams have been tackling these past few weeks—is it enough? The game seems as if it could be in the high 60’s. While Oklahoma State should be moving the ball at will the Wildcats aren’t a one-trick pony. They are 25th in the country in rushing and 29th in points scored. Expect a lot of points here and don’t be surprised if the game goes over the total.

Total Prediction = OVER 66.5
