Packers Eagles Spread Line and Prediction Week 1

This has the possibility to be the best week 1 game of them all. The Packers will head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. The Packers will have their hands full during this one. The Eagles will blitz heavy as usual and the Packers will have to try to beat it. No doubt in my mind Aaron Rodgers is one of the best young QBs in the league and can lead his team to victory week in and week out. On defense it’s looking like the switch to a 3-4 is paying off big time. As for the Eagles who are lucky this game is at home because those fans are some of the best in all of sports, that place will be rocking. Kevin Kolb takes over for the Eagles and looks very confident in his approach. I’m sure having Desean Jackson offense with you would give anybody confidence. They also made some moves on defense by drafting LB Brandon Graham. This will be a great game. Game Starts at 4:15 EST.

The Pack is back, Green Bay has to be excited with Aaron Rodgers leading this offense. He looked sensational during preseason and one can only hope that it will carry over. The only questions about this offense was about the offensive line, but they drafted Bryan Bulaga an Offensive Lineman from Iowa to shore up the line and reshuffled a lot to make sure Rodgers has plenty of time back there. Ryan Grant is an underrated RB and at WR Greg Jennings is a beast. Rodgers has to learn not to hold on to the ball so long, but there’s a lot to love about Green Bay on offense. On defense they are great as well, bringing back Defensive Player Of The Year Charles Woodson, Clay Matthews is an emerging star at LB and B.J Raji was real solid last year.

How about Andy Reid and the new Eagles? This team truly is going through a youth movement, but they aren’t rebuilding and they expect to contend immediately. I’d be a liar if I said they didn’t have the pieces. Kevin Kolb looks like the real deal, we already know about Desean Jackson, and the offensive line looks great. Brent Celek is going to be such a big help for Kolb and if all else fails he knows he has a great defense to fall back on. This defense features CB Asante Samuel, LB Ernie Sims from a trade with the Lions, LB Brandon Graham whom they drafted, LB Stewart Bradley is back from injury, and they believe they got their man when they drafted Safety Nate Allen. This Eagles team is as stacked as I have ever seen them and this team will go as far as Kolb can take them.

Packers vs Eagles Spread Line and Betting Predictions:

Game Total:

Over (-110)
Under (-110)

Game Total Prediction (Top Play): With two teams as balanced as these two it is a bit of a toss, but I say 47.5 is a lot of points and both these teams have great defenses and I’m not willing to go that high. I’m thinking both teams will score, but some drives will stall and end up in FG attempts. Be Safe take the under.

Top Play Prediction: Under 47.5

Green Bay Packers -3
@ Philadelphia Eagles +3

Spread Prediction: In tough matchups I give the edge to the home team and in this one I say Eagles. I agree the game will be close, but I think the Eagles sneak by in this one off the foot of Akers. It will be a great game, but the Eagles fans will make life tough for the Packers.

Prediction: Eagles +3
