Super Bowl Halftime Show – Super Bowl 45 Black Eyed Peas

One of everyone’s favorite traditions of the Super Bowl is the halftime show that accompanies the game. The history of the halftime show dates all the way back to the 60’s when college football teams would bring their marching bands onto the field. The halftime show is announced well in advance, and fans become excited to see their favorite group/singer perform. There has been a long line of groups performing at the Super Bowl halftime show – at Super Bowl 45 in Dallas – the Black Eyed Peas are the performers of choice. The Black Eyed Peas are the first hip hop group to perform at the halftime show since 2004.

The Black Eyed Peas feature Fergie and Will.I.AM along with several other excellent musical talents. In 2010, The Who sang in Miami, and before that were Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, U2, Aerosmith and Phil Collins. The group has promised to give the country an “eye popping performance” in their 15 minutes at Super Bowl 45. During the time, the group will perform a medley of songs, and also some “never seen before” dance moves, along with some of the best dressed performers around.

According to a national poll, the United States would like to see the following people at the halftime of the Super Bowl: The Eagles, Kenny Chesney, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Madonna, Kiss, AC/DC, Jay Z, and ZZ Top. Also, in the same poll, voters were able to vote on some of the best performances at halftime of all time. The top performer was voted as the performance in 2002 by U2. Many people feel this was the winner due to the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. Michael Jackson in 1992 grabbed the pulse of the nation, but when doesn’t MJ steal the stage? Voted third best in the history of the halftime show was Paul McCartney, followed by Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen. Many of the same people, who conducted this poll, feel the Black Eyed Peas will go down as one of the biggest duds of all time.
