Vikings vs Redskins Spread Line and Betting Predictions

The Washington Redskins will host the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday and hope to get a win at home. Washington is coming off of a win against the Tennessee Titans last week and kept their seemingly low playoff hopes alive. Washington is not very good on Offense or Defense, but they find ways to win. The Vikings have found ways to lose games this season, but look to get things turned around under interim head coach Leslie Frazier. This season so far has been a downward spiral for the Vikings and their only consistent player has been Adrian Peterson, however he is going to need more carries if he is going to be effective and I expect a higher emphasis on the running game going forward. Game is set to start 1:00 PM EST.

The Vikings are looking to rebound after an embarrassing loss to the Packers last week which subsequently led to the firing of Brad Childress. The Vikings have been a top 10 defense all year, but have been unable to win games despite that. The offense has been struggling a lot as of late ranking 18th in yards and only 30th in scoring. Something is going to have to give this week and the firing of Brad Childress may be enough to spark this Vikings team to a win. The Vikings pass rush has to get a lot better if they are going to start winning games because their secondary just isn’t good enough to shut down any receivers regardless of who they are. The Redskins have the 29th ranked pass defense and 27th ranked pass defense. This might be the coming out party the Vikings offense has looked for all season.

The Redskins are at home and the NFC East looks to be wide open especially with the now emerging Eagles and the Giants slowly falling apart. If the Redskins can find a way to win a few games in the second half of the season, they could set themselves up for a playoff berth. This week they are at home against the Vikings and have to try to beat them by exploiting them through the air. The Vikings are pretty weak in the secondary and since the Redskins have a pretty good passing game and have the receivers to get behind the secondary. The key for the Redskins will be defending the run and I think that will be the mindset coming into this game. The Redskins must have an extra man in the box to defend Adrian Peterson because he could win the game by himself if the Redskins let him. I think they will take their chances with Favre winning the game.

Vikings vs Redskins Prediction for Week Twelve Betting:

Spread Prediction (Top Play): Washington is 5-3-2 ATS this season. The Redskins are at home and will try to move ahead of .500 on the season. The Redskins desperately need a win here to continue their hunt for the playoffs. The Vikings are 2-8 ATS and may be ready to pack it in, since their probability for the playoffs is very low. I think that the firing of Childress does relieve the players and now they will go out there and play football. This game will be likely be close and I can’t see any team laying down at this point in the season, but I think the Vikings will have some heart and play inspired football in a close game.

Prediction: Vikings +1

Game Total Prediction: Both teams rank towards the bottom of the league in points scored so this will probably be a low scoring game. Both teams are 5-5 when choosing between the Over/Under. There are several game breaking offensive players in this game and neither defense is dominant so points could come in bunches. I have seen a lack of big plays from both teams thus far this season and haven’t seen much offense period from these teams. By all accounts this game should go under, but you never know because the offenses could come to play Sunday. I am going to play it safe this week.

Prediction: Under 43
