Online sportsbook BetOnline says that there isn’t enough betting action on this weekend’s Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 bout. But based on the early betting action at the betting site, the Bronze Bomber has captured 79% of the initial bets despite being the underdog in the bout.
Wilder will challenge Fury for the WBC and lineal heavyweight championship on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. And despite Fury beating Wilder via knockout the last time out, the early bettors have put the American’s name on their betting slips.
Fury’s Odds Have Shortened Since 2018 Fight

As noted by European-based sportsbook Pinnacle, Fury’s odds have shortened since the first bout between these two. According to the said bookmaker, Fury’s odds have gone from 2.590 in the first bout, to 2.250 in the rematch, and 1.323 for next week’s bout. To put those into American numbers, Fury was the +159 underdog in the first bout, +125 in the rematch, and a -310 favorite for this Sunday’s bout. Fury is listed as a -265 favorite at the BetOnline App.
At + 225 in the current BetOnline odds board, Wilder will be the betting underdog for the first time in his professional boxing career and this also marks the first time that The Bronze Bomber closed as the -120 betting favorite in their first bout. The American also entered the ring as the -125 favorite at BetOnline during their rematch.
But after Fury’s dominant and decisive win in the rematch, the Gypsy King opened as the -350 betting favorite to win the trilogy. The odds have become longer at some of the best boxing sportsbooks but anywhere you look, Fury is still the sizeable betting favorite over Wilder.

While Fury is the favorite, Wilder has other plans. In a recent interview, the Bronze Bomber said that he would knock Fury out. Wilder nearly knocked Fury out in the first bout, But in one of the most remarkable comebacks we’ve seen in the sport, Fury got up from that vicious 12th round knockdown and went on to force a draw in a fight where the Englishman’s backers said he clearly won on points.
According to BetOnline, the odds of Wilder knocking out Fury this weekend is +275. However, it’s is only the third favored outcome in the bout. Right now, the Gypsy King is favored to win the fight by KO/TKO/or DQ at -210 while Fury winning by Decision/Technical Decision is second at +250.
Furthermore, the same sportsbook is predicting Fury to get the knockout between rounds 4-6 at odds of +450 with a stoppage within rounds 7 to 9 next at +500. The shortest odds for a Wilder knockout is between Rounds 4 to 6 which is currently pegged at +1000. The odds for the knockout to come in the championship rounds are at +850 for Fury and +2200 for Wilder. Regardless of which round it ends, BetOnline is favoring the fight at -275 not to go the distance.
