Arizona Cardinals Sink to +125 in NFC West Betting Boards

NFC West Cardinals And Rams Background

  • The Arizona Cardinals were beaten by the Indianapolis Colts 22-16 on Christmas Day.
  • With the win,the Rams are now a -150 to win the NFC West while the Cardinals have faded to +125 to win the division.
  • Arizona is just 3-5 SU in their last eight games with three straight losses after opening the season with a 7-0 SU record.

The Arizona Cardinals were the last undefeated team in the NFL this season at 7-0. Since then, they are just 3-5 and have lost their last three games.

On Christmas Day, the Cardinals were beaten by the Indianapolis Colts 22-16 as -1.5 points Spread and -117 Moneyline favorites. While the Colts continued their rise in the team standings, the Cardinals continued with their free fall which looks like a deja vu from the previous season.

Rams are Now a -150 to Win the NFC West

With the loss, the Cardinals have dropped from a +750 to win Super Bowl LVI to +1600 in the latest betting boards at the best NFL sportsbooks. Arizona has also drifted from a -1250 on December 7th to +125 in the latest NFC West betting board at PointsBet USA. On the other hand, the Rams have moved to the -150 betting favorite to win the division.

The Rams are also a -150 at Caesars Sportsbook with the Cardinals listed at +120. At FOXbet, Los Angeles is now the -133 betting favorite with Arizona behind them at +105. Bet365 has the Rams at -141 and the Cardinals at +110 while the DK Sportsbook has L.A. pegged at -190 and Arizona at +145. BetMGM and Unibet have both the Rams and Cardinals listed at -115.

But more than the Rams’ rise, the bigger issue here is the Cardinals’ slide. Arizona had a chance to clinch a playoff berth in each of their last three games. They have lost all those games and have dropped five out of their last 8 overall. Of those five losses, four have come on the road and all five losses were as betting favorites.

Can the Cardinals Avoid Another Collapse?

This is the second straight year where the Cardinals have collapsed in the second half of the season. Last season, Arizona opened with a 5-2 SU record, only to lose six out of their last nine games and miss the playoffs again. This time around, however, it looks like they will make the playoffs. But with this late-season slide looking more like a collapse, it won’t be a surprise if Arizona doesn’t get past the wild card round, if at all.

Arizona has opened as the +2.5 point betting underdog against the Dallas Cowboys at Cowboys Stadium next week. Dallas has a physical running back in Ezekiel Elliott and he is likely to pose the same problems that Jonathan Taylor did on Christmas Day. That means that Arizona is going to have a rough and bruising night on the ground against Dallas.

The Cardinals however have been a dominant road team with a 7-1 record away from their home field. The Cowboys meanwhile, are 5-2 at Cowboys Stadium this season. With the Seahawks coming up in Week 18, there’s a chance that the Cardinals could finish the regular season with back-to-back wins. But if their Christmas Day performance was any indication, that strong finish isn’t likely.
