The event is scheduled to take place on February 5, 2022, at a TBA location. It is expected to be headlined by a Top 10 middleweight bout between Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland.

Evloev Beats Dawodu via Unanimous Decision

Dawodu saw his five-fight winning streak end in his last bout as Movsar Evloev defeated him via unanimous decision at UFC 263 last June 12th. That defeat was Dawodu’s first since March 2018 when he was submitted by Danny Henry at UFC Fight Night 127 in London, via standing guillotine. After that setback, Dawodu won five bouts in a row, including three via split decision.

A former professional World Muaythai Council intercontinental welterweight champion, the 30-year old from Alberta, Canada spent his first bouts fighting under the WSOF where he earned a record of 7-0-1 before joining the UFC in 2018. Dawodu has an overall record of 12-2 with seven knockouts.

Dawodu is used to being the betting favorite in his bouts as he has seen the minus money sign next to his name in all but two of his professional MMA bouts. The only times he was the underdog? During his last two fights when he closed at +100 against Zubaira Tukhugov and a +170 against Evloev. Dawodu was the -260 betting favorite when he was beaten by Danny Henry in his UFC debut.

Trizano Outpoints Klein

Trizano meanwhile is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Ludovit Klein at UFC Vegas 26 last May 8th. The victory put Trizano back on track after the 29-year old suffered his first career loss via submission to Grant Dawson at UFC Fight Night 152 in 2019. Prior to that defeat, Trizano won his first 8 UFC bouts including two under the UFC.

A former Ring of Combat featherweight champion and Maverick MMA lightweight titleholder, Trizano defeated Joe Giannetti to become the winner of The Ultimate Fighter Season 27 lightweight tournament in 2018. Overall, the New York City native has a record of 9-1 with two wins via knockout and two submission victories.

Trizano is used to fighting as the underdog. In fact, he has closed at plus money odds in all four of his bouts under the UFC but has gone 3-1 in those bouts. Trizano was a +130 underdog in the TUF Finale, a +150 against Luis Pena, +145 against Grant Dawson, and a +215 when he defeated Klein in his most recent assignment.
