According to the early betting action from BetMGM, Koepka is the most popular bet to win the Honda Classic. At +2000 at that betting site, the world’s no. 15 ranked golfer in the OWGR has 11% of the tickets and 15 % of the betting handle to win the tournament. He is also the biggest liability at BetMGM. But not only is Koepka the most popular bet there, but he is also doubling everyone else in the field.
The golfer next to Koepka as far as bet popularity is concerned is Billy Horschel who has 5.7% of the bets and 7% of the dollars. The third most bet golfer is Louis Oosthuizen who has 4.5% of the bets. Odds-on-favorite Sungjae Im has 4.4% of the bets while Daniel Berger has 4.1% of the money. Defending Honda Classic champion Matt Jones has 1.3% of the bets and 5.4% of the handle.
At BetMGM, Koepka is also the most popular bet as far as betting slips are concerned with 10% of the tickets there. He is also a slight second behind Oosthuizen in betting handle at 13% against 15%. Meanwhile, Circa Sports assistant sportsbook manager Jeff Davis told NESN that Koepka is “far and away the most popular with the betting public” with 50% more tickets than the second-most popular bet, Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

Right now, Sungjae Im is the betting favorite to win the Honda Classic. Im went from +1800 to +1200 at Caesars Sportsbook to claim the top spot. He is followed by Daniel Berger who is listed at +1800 while Genesis Invitational winner Joaquim Niemann and Koepka are tied at +2000 odds. Koepka though is the pick of early bettors at the best golf sportsbooks.
Koepka has been unpredictable recently but he has the skills to excel on a golf course like PGA National. He ranks 22nd in driving distance (311 yards) and 21st in birdie average (4.63) while finishing in a tie for second at the Honda in 2019. He missed the cut in 2020 and was forced to withdraw last year because of a knee injury.
The four-time major winner has been injury-plagued in recent years but he is a proven golfer in the majors and has 15 career wins internationally. He is two weeks removed from a T-3 at the WMPO and is arguably the best player in the field. When you have that kind of player at his current discount price while playing with this field, it’s like an auto-bet and that’s what the bettors are currently doing right now.
