- The Las Vegas Raiders scored a betting upset when they defeated the Baltimore Ravens 33-27 on Monday Night Football.
- Huge betting losses were suffered by Baltimore backers, including a $250K and $100K bets at the Caesars Sportsbook.
- Betting underdogs were 9-7 SU and a record 12-4 ATS in the opening week of the 2021 NFL season.
Losing J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Marcus Peters to injuries in a span of less than a week was an ominous sign for Ravens fans. But when the best NFL betting sites decreased the opening spread from 6.5 to 3 or 3.5, Baltimore backers pounced on the Ravens’ odds, both at the moneyline and spread line.
When the Raiders pulled off the overtime upset in dramatic fashion, there were huge betting losses everywhere.

These bettors had the reason to back Baltimore. The Ravens entered Monday Night Football with a 19-8-2 ATS record in their last 29 games and that’s a 70.4% winning percentage. Baltimore was 10-5-1 ATS last season and covered 8 out of a dozen games against AFC teams. Lamar Jackson had an impressive 9-2-2 ATS mark in 13 games as road favorites.

Baltimore had a good start as they took a quick 14-0 lead. But they squandered that advantage when they went for 4th and 1 late in the second quarter and failed. The Raiders took advantage and turned it to a field goal for a 14-10 halftime score with Baltimore ahead. Still, the Raiders were a +230 and the Ravens a -5.5 at BetOnline’s live odds.
Las Vegas went as long as a +1700 at the live ML odds before making the comeback. Down 3 points with 37 seconds left and no timeouts remaining, Derek Carr completed two passes and moved the ball 38 yards. Daniel Carson then calmly sank a 55-yard field goal to sent the game to OT. The extra period was crazy but in the end, Carr completed his heroics with the walk-off score to a wide-open Zay Jones.
