Steven Peterson Defeats Hooper at UFC 263
— MMA Junkie (@MMAJunkie) June 12, 2021
Hooper has alternated with a win and a loss in four UFC appearances. In his most recent outing, Hooper suffered a unanimous decision loss against Steven Peterson at UFC 263. The bout was fought at a catchweight of 148.5 pounds after Peterson missed weight. It was the second time in four bouts that Hooper went the distance inside the Octagon and he’s lost both times.
The 22-year-old prospect from Enumclaw, Washington is a former Dominate Fighting Championships featherweight champion and Rumble on the Ridge amateur featherweight champion. Hooper joined the UFC via the Contender Series where he defeated Canaan Kawaihae via decision in 2018. He has an overall record of 10-2 with three knockouts and five submission wins.
Hooper has been the betting favorite in three out of his four UFC bouts. The only time he has entered the Octagon with the plus money sign written next to his name was when he was listed at +155 when he fought Peterson in his most recent UFC appearance.

Meanwhile, Colares is 2-3 in five bouts under the UFC banner. In his last appearance inside the UFC Octagon, the 28-year-old from Amapa, Brazil suffered a split decision loss to Chris Gutierrez who outstruck him in the UFC Vegas 39 main card opener last October 9, 2021.
A former Jungle Fight featherweight champion, Colares also fought for Brazilian promotions like North Extreme Cagefighting, ExpoFight Ampaa, and Max Fight before joining the UFC in 2019. He has also alternated between a loss and win in five UFC bouts and has an overall record of 10-3 with two knockouts and five submission victories.
This marks the first time that Colares has opened with the minus money sign next to his name. The Brazilian opened and closed as the betting underdog in each of his first five UFC bouts. He has been listed with odds as long as +500 when he lost to Montel Jackson at UFC Fight Night 166. Colares was the +244 bottom dog when he fought Gutierrez the last time out.
