- Chris Eubank showed proof of his bet on Canelo Alvarez to knock out Billie Joe Saunders.
- Alvarez and Saunders will square off for the unified super middleweight title on Saturday night in Texas.
- Alvarez is a -750 betting favorite to beat Saunders but is a +110 to win the fight via KO.
His bet was nowhere near the Mattress Mack range, but Chris Eubank Jr. still put his money where his mouth is.
After saying that he would bet on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez to knock out Billie Joe Saunders in this weekend’s super middleweight title unification bout, Eubank showed proof that he’s placed his wager:
The bet has been placed! Billy Schmoe Saunders to get cleaned out by Canelo Alvarez this Saturday. Oh… & the 10k I stand to win will all go to charity 💸💸 pic.twitter.com/QjEYKbB6Mz

According to Eubank’s bet slip, he wagered £10,000 at even money that Alvarez would beat Saunders via KO, TKO, or Disqualification. That means that if Canelo stops Saunders, Eubank will double his money.
Canelo vs Saunders Odds
By KO, TKO or Disqualification: +110
By Decision or Technical Decision: +137
Billy Joe Saunders:
By KO, TKO or Disqualification: +2000
By Decision or Technical Decision: +500

Saunders will stake not just his WBO super middleweight title but also his unbeaten record when he faces Alvarez on Saturday night at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. If he wins, Saunders will annex Canelo’s WBA (super), WBC, and The Ring super middleweight titles. However, he will have to do so as a +550 betting underdog at SportsBetting.ag.
The undefeated Briton is currently a +2000 to win the fight via KO, TKO, or DQ and a +500 to beat Canelo on points. Saunders is also a +450 to score a knockdown in the fight and a -700 not to put Alvarez on the canvass.
On the other hand, Alvarez is a massive -750 odds on favorite to win the fight at the moneyline odds. But he is a +110 betting favorite at Bet365 to win the fight via knockout, technical knockout, or disqualification. The Mexican boxing superstar is also a +137 to win the fight via decision while the odds for a draw currently stand at +2000.

Canelo and Saunders met face to face for the first time on Wednesday in a photo ops session. The meeting was “peaceful” but the two nearly got heated after not so kind words were exchanged back and forth. Of course, Saunders knows how to sell a fight. We’ll see if he can back up the talk inside the ring. The two are scheduled to meet again in the final press conference at 1 pm ET on Thursday while the weigh-in is set at 3pmm ET on Friday.
Last Tuesday, there was some worry that Saunders might pull out of the fight because of an issue with the size of the ring. There were even reports that Johnny Ryder was on his way to Texas in case Saunders withdrew. However, that was easily sorted out as Canelo said that he really didn’t care what the size of the ring would be on Saturday night.
So it’s all systems go now for Canelo’s quest to add Billie Joe Saunders’ WBO belt to his collection. If Alvarez wins, he will be one belt away from fulfilling his dream of becoming the undisputed super middleweight world champion. If he does that, Chris Eubank Jr. will be £10,000 richer although he said that the winnings will go to charity.
