Chris Eubank Jr. continues to be the darling of the best boxing betting sites.

The boxer-son of former two-weight division champion Chris Eubank Jr. has opened as the betting favorite in his 11th consecutive bout. Eubank Jr. is scheduled to face German Sven Elbir at the SSE Arena Wembley in London on October 2, 2021.

The bout will mark Eubank Jr.’s second bout training under former four-division champion and Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. A former secondary middleweight world champion, Eubank Jr. is hoping that training with Jones in Florida will make him world champion again.

Eubank Opens at -3333

Eubank Jr. is well-loved by the oddsmakers. He has opened and closed as the betting favorite in each of his previous 10 bouts, including as a -175 betting favorite during his unanimous decision loss to George Groves in February 2018 at the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series super middleweight tournament.

His longest odds came against former world champion James DeGale at -111 in a fight he won on points to reclaim the IBO super-middleweight title. Eubank Jr. was also a -280 odds on favorite when he defeated Matt Korobov for the interim WBA middleweight title in December 2019. Take out the fights against Groves, DeGale, and Korobov, Eubank Sr. has not closed at lower than -650.

The 31-year old is looking to return to the world title picture with his current run. He has won four in a row since losing to Groves. However, after beating DeGale and Korobov in consecutive bouts, his last victory came against obscure Marcus Morrison. Eubank’s next opponent falls in the same category.

Alias Batman

Known as Batman in the German circuit, Sven Elbir has an 18-1 record with 14 knockouts. Elbir has stopped five out of his last six opponents with only veteran Rafael Sosa Pintos going the distance with him during that span. The German won the vacant WBA international middleweight title during that bout.

While Elbir’s resume looks very impressive on paper, Elbir has not fought outside his native Germany in his seven-year professional boxing career nor has he faced world-class competition. In his most significant bout, he was beaten by current IBF top contender Patrick Wojcicki in 2018.

Because all of his previous bouts were in his native country, there is no record of betting odds for Elbir except that he has opened as the +900 betting underdog against Eubank Jr. Elbir’s odds have even gotten longer since opening as DraftKings currently has him listed at +1360 while 5Dimes is offering him at +1265. The BetOnline App has Elbit at +1200 in its latest odds board.
