The March 12 middleweight bout between Cody Brundage and Dalcha Lungiambula has opened as a pick’em fight.

Both fighters opened at -110 odds when the betting lines for their three-round middleweight featured bout opened on Saturday at the best UFC sportsbooks:

Nick Maximov Defeats Cody Brundage via Unanimous Decision

Brundage is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Nick Maximov during his short-notice UFC debut. The 27-year old from Brighton, Michigan replaced Karl Roberson in the bout but came up short once again in a fight under the UFC banner. Brundage also appeared in Week 5 of the 2020 Contender Series but ended up getting knocked out in less than 150 seconds by William Knight.

Fighting out of Factory X, Brundage started his MMA career in the regional circuits. He made appearances for promotions like Lights Out Championship, Motor City Cage Fights, and Caged Thunder before appearing in the Contender Series. Brundage also appeared in the LFA where his submission win over Joseph Kropschot earned him a UFC contract. He has a record of 6-2 with three knockouts and two submission wins.

Brundage opened as the +120 underdog against Knight at the Contender Series but lost that bout as the -140 favorite. He also opened at +275 against Maximov but saw his odds shorter to as low as even money before fight night. Brundage predicted a late finish of Lungiambula but as the odds say, it’s 50-50 right now.

Marc-Andre Barriault Defeats Dalcha Lungiambula

Like Brundage, Lungiambula is coming off a loss in his last bout. The 34-yea old from the Democratic Republic of Congo suffered a unanimous decision loss to Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC Vegas 36 last September 4, 2021. The defeat was Lungiambula’s second in four UFC appearances and dropped his record to 11-3 with five knockouts and one submission win.

A former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion at the Extreme Fighting Championship in South Africa, Lungiambula signed with the UFC in 2019 and made some noise in his UFC debut when he knocked out Dequan Townsend at UFC on ESPN 3. In his next fight though, he was knocked out by Magomed Ankalaev before moving down to middleweight where he picked up a win over Marcus Perez last January 20, 2021.

Lungiambula’s two losses have come with the plus money sign next to his name. He was the +300 betting underdog when he was knocked out by Ankalaev. In his most recent bout, Lungiambula was listed at +150 against Barriault. On the other hand, he was betting favorite in his two wins, at -500 against Townsend and -150 against Perez.
