Landwehr was then booked to fight Zubaira Tukhugov on August 6th but Tukhugov experienced visa problems and had to pull out of the bout. Onama heads to this weekend’s affair coming off a second-round submission win over former FAC bantamweight champion Garrett Armfield at UFC Vegas 58 just last July 9th. The win was the second straight for Onama who knocked out Gabriel Benitez at UFC Vegas 48 last February after losing his UFC debut against Mason Jones last year.
The 28-year-old from the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Uganda began his MMA career at the Kansas City Fighting Alliance regional promotion in Missouri before moving to the Fighting Alliance Championship. He was signed by the UFC in 2021 after amassing a record of 8-0 with eight stoppage wins. Overall, he has a record of 10-1 with six knockouts and four submission wins.
This marks the second straight bout where Onama has opened as a sizable underdog inside the Octagon. The Ugandan fighter opened at -500 against Armfield and closed at -750 odds. Onama also closed as the -160 favorite when he defeated Gabriel Benitez but in that bout, he opened as the +105 betting underdog.

— Damon Martin (@DamonMartin) October 16, 2021
Like his opponent, Nate Landwehr heads to this Saturday’s bout with a submission victory in his last UFC appearance. In his case, Landwehr earned Performance of the Night honors when he forced Ludovit Klein to tap out to an anaconda choke at UFC Vegas 40 last October 16, 2021.
The 34-year-old from Clarksville, Tennessee is a former M-1 Global featherweight champion and Gladiators of the Cage featherweight champion. Landwehr joined the UFC in 2020 after his second successful title defense at M-1. He is 2-2 inside the Octagon with KO losses to Herbert Burns and Julian Erosa.
Landwehr will be the betting underdog for the second straight bout. He opened at +185 odds against Klein and closed as a sizable +300 bottom dog on fight night. Landwehr was the betting favorite in his two UFC losses, closing at -124 against Erosa and at -121 against Burns.
