- The Los Angeles Dodgers have caught the New York Yankees on top of the World Series betting boards.
- New York had supplanted Los Angeles from the top at the start of the current month but with the Yankees struggling right now, their title odds have dropped.
- The Yankees have lost 10 out of their last 15 games played with the Dodgers now having the best record in baseball via a better win percentage.
With the Mets sweeping the Yankees in the latest edition of the Subway Series, the World Series odds boards have shifted. Not by much, but just enough for the Los Angeles Dodgers to catch the Yankees at the top of the mountain.
The Dodgers entered the season as the odds-on favorites to win the 2022 World Series. But with the Yankees zooming to the top of the team standings, the Yankees overtook the Dodgers on top of the mountain at the start of the month and have spent most of this month alone at the top. Not anymore.

According to online sportsbook BetMGM, the Yankees and Dodgers now share the top spot at +350 odds apiece with the Houston Astros chasing them at +450. Meanwhile, the New York Mets at +700 and the reigning World Series champions Atlanta Braves at +900 are the only other teams with odds shorter than +1000.
Both teams are also listed at +350 via Unibet, Borgata Online, and the Barstool Sportsbook with the Astros also at +450. Meanwhile, Caesars has both New York and Los Angeles at a longer +375 odds while the FanDuel Sportsbook has the two teams priced at +330. Houston is still at +450 at both betting sites. Bet365 USA has the shortest odds on the Dodgers at +333 with the Yankees down to +400 there and the Astros steady at +450.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers are even the solo +350 favorites now at the DraftKings Sportsbook with the Yankees falling behind at +380 and the Astros at +500.
Yankees fans can take a sigh of relief at the BetOnline App, where the Bronx Bombers are still the solo favorites at +325 but with the Dodgers closing in at +350 odds. New York is also still alone at the top via PointsBet USA at +350 with Los Angeles currently priced at +375 odds.
Yankees Acquiring Benintendi
— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) July 28, 2022
When you google the Yankees right now, the top news that pops out is the Bronx Bombers acquiring Kansas City Royals All-Star outfielder Andrew Benintendi in exchange for three minor league players. No question, the addition of Benintendi makes the Yankees an even more formidable team, as if they do not have the best record in the majors.
Thanks to a strong start, the Yankees have a massive 11.5-game lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East Division before Thursday’s games. But they are now only two games ahead of the Houston Astros in the AL standings and have been overtaken by the Dodgers in win percentage, .670 to .667 for the best record in baseball.
After getting swept by the Mets in the latest Subway Series, the Yankees have now lost 10 out of their last 15 games played and are just 4-6 in their last 10 games. But the team is unfazed as they still have a massive division lead and an All-Star outfielder arriving on Thursday. The oddsmakers, however, are starting to shift the odds.
