The light heavyweight bout between surging prospects Da Un Jung and Dustin Jacoby has opened as a pick’em fight.

Both fighters hit the betting boards at the top UFC sportsbooks with an opening price of -110:

Jacoby has gone 5-0-1 since getting another chance in the UFC while Jung is 4-0-1 in his UFC career. However, only one of them will leave with his UFC “0” after July 16th.

Dustin Jacoby Def. Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 272

Since returning from a stint with Glory Kickboxing, Jacoby is unbeaten in eight MMA bouts, including six in the UFC. In his most recent Octagon appearance, Jacoby defeated Michal Oleksiejczuk via unanimous decision at UFC 272 for his third straight win since a split draw with Ion Cutelaba in May 2021.

The 34-year-old Jacoby began his MMA career at CCCW and XFO. He joined the UFC in 2011 but was cut after losing his first two Octagon assignments. He ended up in Bellator and when that stint too was unsuccessful, he transitioned to kickboxing and competed for Glory where he found some success. Since returning to MMA in 2019, he has not lost in eight bouts. Overall, Jacoby has a record of 17-5 with 10 knockouts and one submission win.

Jacoby opened as the betting favorite in five out of the six bouts during his second tour of duty with the UFC. The only time he opened as an underdog was when he opened and closed at +120 odds against Cutelaba. That bout stands out as the only blot on his resume since coming back to the UFC.

Da Un Jung KOs Kennedy Nzechukwu

Meanwhile, Da Un Jung is coming off a first-round knockout win over Kennedy Nzechukwu at UFC Vegas 42 last November 31, 2021. That victory was the second straight and fourth overall inside the Octagon for the South Korean. Jung is undefeated in five UFC bouts including a split draw against Sam Alvey at UFC 254 in October 2020.

The 28-year-old from Asan, South Korea has been fighting professionally since 2015. Jung won the HEAT light heavyweight title in 2018 and joined the UFC three fights later. Jung has an overall record of 15-2 with 11 knockouts and two submission wins. He has not lost a bout since 2015 when he began his MMA career with a 1-2 record.

Jung was favored in four out of his first five UFC assignments. The only time the Korean opened with the plus money sign next to his name was when he fought Khadis Ibragimov at UFC Fight Night 157 in 2019. Jung opened at +255 odds and closed at +245 in that bout which he won via stoppage.
