The highly anticipated exhibition boxing match between former World’s Strongest Man winners Eddie Hall and Hafthor Brjornsson has been postponed after Hall suffered an injury during training.
Hall and Bjornsson were supposed to fight in “The Heaviest Boxing Match in History” at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. But while the main event has been put on hold, the rest of the fight card will still go ahead, including the showdown between CrossFit rivals Josh Bridges and Jacob Heppner.
Meanwhile, the promoters are trying to keep Thor in the event by looking for a replacement opponent. As for Hall, he is expected to be out for at least six months to recover.

The bad news was announced by MTK Global on Sunday night via Twitter. In its announcement, MTK Global included a video of the actual sparring session where Hall suffered the injury. In the footage, it was obvious that he suffered the injury while throwing a lazy left hook at his sparring partner last Monday.
Hall yelled out in pain right away and he immediately knew what happened as he told the people in his camp that he tore his biceps. After the announcement, Hall confirmed the injury and also announced that he underwent surgery last Thursday to reattach the the bicep. After two days, Hall said on Instagram that he was already able to move it.
Despite the successful surgery, the fight against Thor will not push through on September 19 and it is now being targeted for March or April 2022. Hall was a +105 betting underdog at most European betting sites while Bjornsson was the -110 odds on favorite to win the fight. At the BetOnline App, both fighters are currently pegged at -110.

The bad blood between these strongman giants started in 2017 when Bjornsson accused Hall of cheating as he became the first British man to win the World’s Strongest Man title in more than 20 years. Their professional rivalry intensified last year when Bjornsson broke Hall’s 500kg world deadlift record by a single kilo.
After breaking the record, Thor challenged Hall to a boxing match by saying he’ll knock him out just like he did his record.Of course, Hall did not say no. Now, it’s personal between these two power lifters and their gigantic rivalry has spilled over in the boxing ring.
There’s a huge size difference between these two men though as Hall is just 6-2 and has lost 36 kilograms since 2018 in a dramatic body change. Meanwhile, Bjornsson is dubbed as The Mountain and he is a massive six inches taller than his rival at 6-9 and 25 kilograms heavier at 190 kg.
