Holm has not fought since dominating Irene Aldana in a lopsided decision at the UFC Fight Island 4 main event in October 2020. The former UFC bantamweight champion was supposed to fight Aspen Ladd at UFC Vegas 40 last October but withdrew from the bout after suffering a knee injury. Holm was replaced by Norma Dumont who upset Ladd.
The 40-year-old from Albuquerque, New Mexico is the no. 2 ranked female bantamweight in the UFC. A former multiple-time world champion boxer, Holm delivered one of the biggest upsets in MMA history when she knocked out Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. However, Holm would lose five out of her next seven bouts, including four title fights before winning her most recent two assignments. Holm is 14-5 with 8 knockouts.
It’s the third straight time Holm will be opening as the betting favorite. Holm opened at -290 against Penington and was a –120 when the betting lines for her bout with Aldana opened. The Preacher’s Daughter has been the underdog only twice in her UFC career and those came against Amanda Nunes and Rousey.

Vieira busted up Miesha Tate in a unanimous decision win at UFC Vegas 43 last November 20, 2021, to bounce back from a loss to Yana Kunitskaya in her previous bout. The 30-year-old from Manaus, Amazonas in Brazil is 6-2 inside the UFC Octagon with five of her victories coming by way of decision.
The 6th ranked female bantamweight in the UFC is a former Mr. Cage women’s bantamweight champion who also fought under promotions like Circuito de Lutas and Big Way Fight Night before joining the UFC in 2016. Vieira won her first four UFC bouts but is just 2-2 in her last four UFC assignments. Overall, she has a record of 12-2 with two knockouts and four submission wins.
Vieira will be the underdog for the second consecutive bout and for only the third time in her UFC career. At +185 against Holm, this marks her longest opening odds while fighting under the UFC. Her previous longest opening odds stood at +180 when she fought Sara McMann in 2017.
