The Memphis Grizzlies’ youth movement has put the NBA on notice, and Ja Morant up in the MVP odds boards.
With their win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, the Memphis Grizzlies have now won a franchise-best 10 consecutive games. Memphis also went 9-1 ATS during that stretch, to improve to 28-15 ATS on the season, the best ATS mark in the league.
More importantly, the Grizzlies are 29-14 SU on the season and are now in third place in the Western Conference team standings.

But not only have the Grizzlies won 10 straight games, covered the betting spread in seven consecutive games, or become the best ATS team in the NBA, they have been a dominant team since Thanksgiving.
Since SportsCenter made that Tweet, the Grizzlies have won three more games to improve their record to 20-4 SU since thanksgiving. What is even more impressive is the fact that this dominant stretch began when Morant missed 12 games due to a knee injury and they have been even better with him back.
Memphis’ current 10-game winning streak is the longest single-season winning streak in franchise history. During this period, Memphis has beaten the teams with the top two best records in the NBA in the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors. They also picked up victories over the top two preseason betting favorites in the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.
Morant meanwhile, is averaging 27.2 points per game during this streak. At the age of 22 years and 154 days, he is the youngest player in NBA history to average at least 25 points during a winning streak of at least 10 games. With this torrid stretch, Morant has also moved up the MVP betting boards.

Morant has moved from +5000 to +2500 at online sportsbook BetMGM, overtaking the likes of DeMar DeRozan (+3000) and LeBron James (+3500). Only Steph Curry (+145), Kevin Durant (+200), Giannis Antetokounmpo (+750), and Nikola Jokic (+1400) have shorter odds than Morant right now. The same scenario can be seen at the other top NBA betting sites.
At Caesars Sportsbook, Morant is also listed as the fifth favorite but at +3000 with Curry and Antetokounmpo having shorter odds at +140 and +700 while Durant and Jokic at the same odds as above. PointsBet USA and the Barstool Sportsbook also have Morant at +3000 behind the same four favorites.
Meanwhile, Bet365 USA has even shorter odds for Morant at +2200 although he is still in the fifth spot there. The BetOnline App meanwhile, has the current shortest MVP odds for Ja Morant at +1000. At that sportsbook, Morant is in the fourth spot, behind Curry (+130), Durant (+250), and Antetokounmpo (+400) while passing Jokic who is listed at +1200.
